找工作，同理，要问你现在的薪水。

some even suggests not to give out a salary requirement.

Someone mentioned background check in the replies, but as I understand,
1. the applicant has to be consent to a background check;
2. the only way they can find out how much you are making is by calling your
current employer and ask specifically for it. http://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs16-bck.htm
So the whole thing is probably 50-50.
So for me, I am not going to do anything I am not comfortable with.
