The Product Ads team is looking for a Senior Research Scientist or Engineer
to contribute research, modeling, and analytics expertise for the
development of a successful online advertising program. The role involves:
working with our business and engineering teams to devise and build
innovative monetization solutions for varied online advertising scenarios;
building next generation models and algorithms for problems such as click-
through-rate estimation, bid estimation, and supply forecasting; and
processing large volumes of data to extract insight using data mining,
statistics, and machine learning techniques.
Assisting an engineering team in building solutions for problems relevant to
optimizing profit or revenue, by designing algorithms, building models, and
prototyping
Proactive monitoring and analysis of our complex systems to understand,
diagnose and continuously improve business and operation parameters
Strategic analysis, modeling and projection for new monetization strategies,
products and business directions
Experiment design and rigorous statistical analysis to answer business
questions and evaluate products
Basic Requirements-
5-6+ years of hands on experience working with large data sets
Experimental design and analysis skills
The ability to distill problem definitions, models, and constraints from
informal business requirements
Preferred Requirements-
Advanced degree such as Masters/PhD in a relevant field of Computer Science/
Mathematics/Economics or other scientific discipline is strongly preferred.
Superior verbal and written communication skills, including ability to
convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to mathematically-
trained engineers as well as to business leaders at the appropriate level of
detail
Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives
The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of and experience with some
of the following areas, with deep expertise in at least one:
Algorithms
Mathematical optimization
Auction theory/Game theory
Statistics, machine learning, data mining
Machine Learning, Information retrieval, web search, Relevance
Prior application of such expertise to online advertising is a big plus. |
