you basically have 3 choices:
you can start all over again - if your I140 is approved,
you get to keep your PD ; or
you can go back to the old role which your perm is based
up on, and stay there for 6+ months when you submit your
I485 ; or
after your I485 is approved, go back to your old role for
6 months.

addedum on it
