Position Description:
Will provide programming support, architectural design review, planning, and
redesign for an existing software application. Will be responsible for
providing new enhancements; bug fixes and analysis of software/system
problems including developing and implementing solutions; API development;
and technical documentation. Will also provide development and maintenance
of the existing website, which provides distribution of the software,
education materials, and customer support.
Required Skills: 3+ years of experience in programming and processing of
geospatial data including Java and API development. Must have experience
creating and maintaining websites including Unix/Linux,Adobe Dreamweaver,
HTML, and CSS. Must have the ability to communicate well in writing and in
person, and be able to work day-to-day independently.
Knowledge of Geodetic Reference Frames and Datums, GIS and/or remote sensing
and mapping, preferred.
(2)Junior Software Developer - Job Code 1436
Position Description:
Will monitor and maintain data ingestion software for an operational
environment, address data ingestion operational issues, and provide
enhancements, as directed, to data ingestion software. Will create user
information solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining Java
based components and interfaces.
Required Skills:
1+ years of experience with a wide variety of programming languages /
technologies such as Perl, C / C++, FORTRAN, and Java. Experience with RDBMS
(Oracle 9i/8i, Sybase, PostgreSQL) and back end development, required. Must
have experience developing, maintaining, and debugging console (command-
line) applications. Experience troubleshooting and debugging applications in
high-throughput, large-volume systems and in providing operational support
in a real-time environment are required. Must be familiar with the full
lifecycle software development process. Must have excellent verbal
communication skills and work well in a team environment.
