說明: 這些絲狀的雲氣是一顆銀河系恆星留下的殘骸。在數千年前，這顆恆星發生
了超新星爆炸，留下上面影像中這個名為面紗星雲 (Veil Nebula)的遺骸。在爆炸的
當時，這個位在北天天鵝座 (Cygnus)內的擴張雲氣，亮度可以和眉月爭輝，對活在
人類信史黎明階段的先民，它的光輝綿延了數週之久。這個超新星遺骸距離我們約
有1400光年，所覆蓋的天區大約是滿月的五倍以上。影像右方明亮的絲狀雲氣稱為
妖巫帚星雲，用小型望遠鏡就能夠看見它。面紗星雲又名為天鵝座圈 (Cygnus Loop
)。
