He has other size cutters too if you want a 1/2 or 3/8 but me and my wife
like the 1/4 cut the best.
I've been searching the internet for a week looking for the best deal on a
heavy duty all metal fry cutter. I bought one of the $14.99 ones from wal
mart and on the second potato it bent. Plus you have to cut the potato in
half to use the cheap ones. I began looking at commercial cutters but for $
150-$300 it wasn't an expense I could justify to my wife.
I found these Thunder cutters are also sold under several other names like
Halco, International, etc. They are made of solid cast iron and I can put a
whole potato through it without any worry of bending or breaking. I was
surprised at how tough it is built and this thing is heavy, over 11lbs
according to my bathroom scale. I have no doubt it will cut thousands and
thousands of potato's in my kitchen over the years.
Now I searched Amazon, all over Google and the internet, and even my local
kitchen stores but no one could beat this ebay sellers price. I found it for
$42 via google but with shipping it would actually cost more.
If your looking for a great cutter for homemade fries then check it out. I
mounted mine on the wall with a bucket underneath. Now when I have the
family over for a fish fry it just takes a couple minutes to cut enough
fries for everyone.
