$4 quart. What is interesting is that they have plenty of the 5w-40 weight
European spec in stock. This appears to be the same as the Mercedes
recommended Quaker State Full Synthetic European Formula 5W-40 which meets
the MB 229.5 spec which is the current spec for most MB gasoline and diesel
engines. See here:

See my photos of the front and back of the bottle for details and specs.
I know others will post hey, we can get Mobil 1 at Wal-Mart for $22 for a 5
quart jug, what makes this such a good deal? Well, I have never seen a Mobil
1 5 quart jug at my local Wally that meets the MB or BMW specs# They don't
even carry the Mobil 0w-40 that does meet the MB spec in quarts #in my town#
# Mobil 1 0w-40 at Advance is like $9 / quart regular price# The best deal I
found on a MB approved oil was to buy the Castrol 5w-40 at Pep Boys for 5
quarts with a filter for around $28-30 on sale# It was $5+/quart#
Before you start trashing Quaker State oils based on their 1960s and 1970s
sludge problems #this is 2011, remember# Quaker State was purchased by
Pennzoil then Shell bought Pennzoil / Quaker State several years back# Here
is a post at Bobistheoilguy by a retired Pennzoil dude that suggests:
Quaker State European Formula 5w-40 = Pennzoil Platinum European Formula 5w-
40 = Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40
all are approved MB oils

(It's the 11th post down. I cannot make it come up at the top. Sorry.)
It may not be the greatest deal, but try and find a Mercedes or BMW approved
oil for $4 quart. Its pretty hard.
