Nowadays, $2 doesn't even get you a cup of coffee. So how is it that for
less than the cost of your morning joe, you can book a flight to the Bahamas
with Vision Airlines? It's true. Vision has just discounted non-stop
flights from Ft. Lauderdale to Grand Bahama Island for just $1 each way.
Even if you're not close enough to the Ft. Lauderdale area to take advantage
of this offer, you can find similarly inexpensive flights from Baltimore,
Louisville, Raleigh, and Richmond. Vision Airlines' sale still not in your
field of vision? You may want to consider jetting to one of the available
cities, since these prices are so good.
I fully priced out the $2 round-trip rate, and taxes and fees-inclusive
prices total at $122.74. (The breakdown is $40 for the departure flight, and
a pricier $83 for return because of various Bahamas taxes and fees.) For
comparison's sake, that's 53 percent less than the second-lowest carrier.
Additionally, there are no blackout periods, so why not fill those empty
Thanksgiving days with tropical drink-imbibing rather than second servings
of turkey fixins'? Travel dates are from November 3 through December 19, and
available days vary based on preferred route (FLL: Mondays, Wednesdays
through Fridays, Sundays; BWI: Thursdays, Sundays; RDU: Mondays, Fridays;
etc.).
