I posted this deal a month ago, but Amazon has since dropped the price by
another $20 bringing it to $379.99, the lowest price for the white version I
've ever seen. Best Buy had the black version for $279.99 for a few minutes
, but that may have been a fluke and it's not available anymore. Factor in
tax savings and this is still a phenomenal price for a phenomenal camera.
People are jumping all over the S100 deal, but I would take this over the
S100 any day. The XZ-1 was awarded the coveted Gold award on dpreview.com:

while the S100 only got silver.
For those of you not in the know, this is probably one of the best point in
shoot cameras available out there with an incredibly fast F1.8 lens at 28mm
(meaning it is ideal for low light), and more impressively, its still a very
fast F2.2 at the full zoom of 112mm (meaning, excellent low light or fast
performance at full zooms at concerts and sporting events). Competitors like
the Canon S95 have a decent F2.0 at 28mm (no zoom), but takes a tremendous
nose dive to F 4.9 at the full zoom of 105mm (which equates to a slower
shutter speed which means blurred images or added graininess and noise).
It's slightly larger and noticeably heavier than the S95/100, but if you're
a low-light/high performance enthusiast, I would consider this to be one of
the top point in shoots available.
