� REYKJAVIK, Iceland (AFP)--An American Airlines flight from Paris
to Fort Worth, Texas, carrying 145 people, made an emergency landing Tuesday
at Keflavik airport in Iceland, an airport spokesman told AFP. �
Flight AAL49 "landed safely at 1350 [GMT] and the situation is under control
. It doesn't seem to be as serious as initially thought," Fridthor Eydal
said. � "There was a report from the pilot that he wanted to divert
here because of the smell of fumes in the cabin," he said. � Eydal
said the passengers had all disembarked and were waiting in the passenger
terminal while the plane, a Boeing 767, was being inspected to determine the
cause of the fumes. � "A few [passengers], five or six, had
complained about dizziness. They are being attended to in the terminal," he
said. � Eydal said the evacuation was "uneventful," explaining the
passengers left the plane via an air bridge connected to the terminal. &#
