Trading Secrets at the Heart of Trial
In July 2009, former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. computer programmer Sergey
Aleynikov boarded a flight to Chicago for a meeting with his new bosses at a
trading firm. He was arrested the next day, and federal prosecutors accused
him of carrying a laptop computer and flash drive containing a copy of the
confidential source code for Goldman's high-frequency trading platform,
which he secretly copied on his last day there.
The 40-year-old Mr. Aleynikov is set to go on trial in New York on Monday,
where he faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted on the most serious
charge |
