前几天我发帖子问我家的猫为什么行为异常,吃东西后老吐. 昨天带他去看vet 做了抽
血检查,结果发现他kidney is failing. 听到消息后心里乱翻翻的,不知道该怎么做.
vet 问我要不要现在就让他走,我说不,我说就让他享受这最后的日子.我家的猫到我家
才一个多月,已经非常的粘我,常常趴在我的膝盖上睡觉,我也很享受这种时光,但没有想
到这种日子不再多了.我只希望他剩下的日子能够快快乐乐的.:(

I am sorry I have to write in English.
one of my cat is 14 yrs old. he has one kidney much smaller than the other.
and he got sick last two yrs. I started to pay attention. before I didn't
know anything about cat. now I know you should not feed them dry food with
any grain in it. so I only feed them grain free food. if you feed dry food,
make sure they have a lot of water, to cats, water is very very important.
after I adjust the food, my cat doesn't vomit anymore. if his fur doesn't
look shine, there must be something wrong with him.
please buy some Punpkin puree (I got it from sunharvest - a local store. it
is organic). it is really good for cat that need more fiber. it is 2 for $4.
at first, he didn't like it. but I tried few more times, but don't force it.
just show it to him and put on his lips a little bit for him to lick.
cat's constipation can cause a lot of diseases. kidney failure is one of
them.
so no matter what, feed him some punpkin puree. you can find it on Amozon as
well. few weeks ago, my cat had really bad constipation. I took him to the
vet spent almost $200 , but they didn't find anything. I am not worry about
the money, just he has to suffer, so I start do some research myself. I
found Punpkin puree is the best natual remedy for this. so after a week or
so, he is well. any so happy. start playing.
don't only trust the vet. sometimes, you know better than them. just don't
give up. cats are the best to hide their pain, if you already sense it, then
it is bad, but just do what you can to feed him better food and plenty of
water.
I switched my cat food to Wellness, grain free. a little pricy but it is
worth it.

Strongly agree! When my cats were sick or had bloody
diarrhea, my vets only knew to push me do x-ray, ultrasound, biopsy.
etc and found nothing. I am not sure if they really don't
have the knowledge of cat nutrition or they just don't want
to tell their clients.
Thank you for the tip of pumpkin puree. I will try on my cats
too.
To lz, if your cat is vomiting, change his food now. It must be grainless. Make sure his drinking water and litter box are clean.
After changing to strictly grainless food, my cats have not vomited for two months.

Don't give up your hope yet. What stage of kidney failure is your cat at? If
still in acute status, you should try 2-3 days of IV fluid, which will help
kidney to wash off the toxin in the body (which is also the cause of
vomiting). When the cat's condition stablized, do a blood test to find out
the kidney function status.
Ask vet for KD food, this is specifically for kidney failure cat, feed KD
food only, also ask vet (or buy from amazon)for Epakitin, this is also for
kidney failure cat, use it with meal. Make sure the cat is well hydrated, if
it is necessary, you may have to give subcutanuous fluid to the cat.
As a cat owner who has taken care of a kidney failure cat for quite while, I
am sorry to hear the news. but if you give your cat lots of TLC, he/she
will enjoy a lot out of it.

chicken and pea dry food. 他一见了就丢下罐头一阵猛吃,他已经很久没有碰过dry
food 的了,看起来起了一定的作用.谢谢lihao和TimeValue 的建议.等过一阵他长胖些
