The source of the meat might be important. Might be better to directly
source the meat from producer instead of buying packages from supermarket.
People say whole foods and costco meat are pretty fresh. I buy from Trader
Joe's too.
I also quickly bake or boil the meat so the outside 10-20% is cooked.
People say grinding is not ideal, basically you bring in more oxygen for
microbes to grow, and lose nutrients such as taurine. I chop mine up to
chunks.
Yes bone (calcium) is very important to raw feeding, as well as organ meat (
taurine) vs muscle meat (high in phosphorus). I am lazy so use good quality
bone meal and freeze dried liver.
people say in the wild, the big cats will eat the prey over several days,
also the physiology of the cat is such that their intestines are very short,
things pass much quicker so bacteria dont have time to multiple. I'd worry
more about hormones and antibiotics in commercially grown meat. |

我有这个，不过不是特别好用，最近都用切块的；将来有钱了可能会进electric

冷冻可以解决寄生虫的问题；为了控制细菌，不要买绞好的肉，绞过之后要立刻冷冻起
来，绞之前也可以用开水烫一下表面
（另外-80C 冻细菌要加glycerol的阿。。。。。。。不然也冻死了吧）
家禽类的小骨头，比如鸡肋骨或者鸡翅膀，都是不错的骨头来源；不要给任何承重骨
如果不用骨头，也可以用钙或者其他替代物；不过如果用熟的bone meal，有点defeat
the purpose of raw feeding；最理想是冷冻的ground raw bone，不过我土人不知道

The essentials are: muscle meat, organ (liver) meat (sub taurine and vit.A
and D), bone (sub bone meal) and fat (sub salmon oil).
Recipe:
- turkey breast from Tj's, $5/lb (canned food 13oz = $3.5)
- freeze in 1lb portion. 2 cats need about 1lb/day
- bake outside about 10% -20% cooked
- cut to chunks, for 1lb add: 1 raw egg, 1/4 tsp kelp and dulse, 2000mg
taurine, 2000mg salmon oil, 3/4 tbsp bone meal, freeze dried turkey liver (
commercial). |

这家的评价不错。唯一一个就是10年FDA有recall过一次（因为可能有细菌污染），但
是说最后并没有实质性证据说有问题。

I remember reading somewhere, that they sell a pellet, which includes all
premixed supplement, bone and organ, all you add is muscle meat. maybe that
was in my dreams.
if just supplement, it is easy to buy taurine, salmon oil, vitA B and D ba.
for me the easiest for now is 50% can 50% raw, that way dun have to worry if
100% right, the cans have plenty supplements.
i hate handling both liver and heart.
