多少卡路里呢？终于决定不偷懒了，记下了型号 life fitness 95Ti 然后上网找到了
manual，认真读了，才知道原来这个treadmill的功能挺专业的。需要输入你的体重，
选择模式，才能准确显示烧的卡路里。而且模式很多，可以一键调两个不同的速度，可
以按照心率自动改变inclination, 或者速度，可以自动HILL，等等。
而且发现了可以自己配Polar的heart rate strip，能无线传输心率到treadmill上，而
且很准确。
我有大概2个星期都是 6.0 mph 57 分钟 + 8.5 mph 3 分钟 + 5 min cooldown了，昨
天测量出来的心率基本在140 到 145 之间。按照公式，我应该保持心率在 180 - 年龄
(30) = 150 的范围 才能高效减肥。所以今天想试着 push 高一点点，看心率怎么样。
只加了 0.1 mph 的速度，6.1 mph 57 分钟 + 8.6 mph 3 分钟 + 5 min cooldown ，

发帖数: 1879 | 4 这话说的有点误导了，不是没有数学背景就不能申请mph，mph里面一共四个大亚方向，
只有生统对数学的要求比较高，而且就算是生统，普通大学上的那些课也足够应付了。
没申请上可能有其他方面的因素，也有可能是运气不好，但是不能说没有数学背景申请
mph就完全没戏的，我还认识不少学文科的申请mph，照样去top program。 |

年入学才有钱。Alberta给钱。好在我也申请了别的专业，就没走mph这条路。不过十年

发帖数: 2 | 6 最近刚被columbia和yale的MPH录取（同时录取的还有pittsburgh和minnesota),这两个
学校的program都有吸引我的地方（另两个学校的也不错，只是综合排名比较低），不
知道选哪个好，请各位前辈指点一二，不甚感激！
就我自己搜集的信息来看，yale的优势在于招的人数少，和教授的Interaction比较多
一些，research做的比较深入。不知道为何yale的MPH排名并不高，2011是11名。而
columbia的优势在于有一些比较新颖的research方向，faculty人数超多，感觉比较重
视综合素质的培养，已经毕业的校友人数多对日后找工作也会有些积极的影响。
columbia去年MPH的排名是4. 具体的地理位置来讲都不怎么样，yale所在的New haven
对我来说更加恐怖些。
不知道真实的情况是怎样，哪个学校毕业的MPH更加受到认可呢？希望过来人能帮帮忙

他们最担心的应该不是警察，而是速度太慢，车被击中，油耗光，或者发动机突然熄火
阿。

今天经过一家新开24 hr fitness，发现店里搞活动，给一张7天的pass，免费的。
我很高兴，又可以have fun了。
我进去以后，填了个表，径直走到跑步机那边，随便选了一台，直接就按了12 MPH。皮
带开始转动起来，我在旁边作伸展运动，热热身。我跑步之前，脚踝一定要活动开的。
作了5分钟热身，皮带已经是转的飞快了。只见我一个鲤鱼打挺，窑子翻身，跳上了皮
带，开心地跑了起来。
跑了大概十几分钟，身边聚集了一圈一圈的围观群众，有blonde，有brunnete，有

因为是本科化学出身，所以申请的时候就选了对数学相对要求低一些的MPH，结果最近
看到一些招聘的都是写明了要MS和PHD的，才发觉好像我申请的，和大家说的好找工作
的生统不是一回事呀。。。

话到了60 mph的时候就会hesitate,抖一抖的,有点儿向后窜的感觉.如果把overdrive关
了就没问题了,但是rpm会到5的样子.
拿machanic那里去做了检测,就是有点漏机油,然后他们用小盒子测了也没有misfire,说
可能是fuel filter有点堵.
感觉车子还蛮不错,价格也还可以,1700,到底这个Overdrive 1999 Mazda Millenia S开
到60 mph左右就hesitate问题严重吗? 如果没太大问题我就成交了拿车做新年礼物了,

开了50~60 mph, 警察写在罚单上”video admitted 50, 60mph”. 让我上法庭, 因为
我超30mph.
11 月4日, 上了法庭. 法官说如果我承认 ”Guilty”. 我可能6 month jail or 1200$
fine. 法官问我, 需要律师不? 我说”不知道.” 法官让我12月2日再回来.
我打了两个律师的电话, 500$ 给律师. 我可能被罚款200~300$, 3个月内如果没任何罚
单, 就不会有记录, 保险就不会涨.
纠结的是: 我需要律师吗? 给律师500$不太甘心. 如果defend myself 会不会是同样的
结果?
在过去一年内, 我没有任何ticket.
想听听有经验的人的建议. 实在不行就破财免灾了, 给律师$500 了.

MS两种program.想知道，这两个找工作哪个更容易找些，还有被一个program录取了是
否有可能转到另外一个program。
主要是当时申的时候填错了，我其实是想ms的，结果选成了mph:( 拿到admission才发现

要额外上一些课。

，本来打算试试申请MPH，结果因为没有数学背景而被拒，在这里也给跟我经历类似的
朋友提个醒，没有数学背景很难申请到MPH，省得像我一样走弯路。
想请问大家，除了护士，考board还有什么和医学相关的专业吗？

发帖数: 2180 | 34 还是那句话，多申请几个学校，学医的转学生物统计的太多了。只能说明那两个学校不收，但是很多其
他学校的都收的。MPH其他专业找工作都不如生物统计，当然现在生统也开始慢慢饱和，但还是比MPH的
其他专业好。
另外有人读检验的证书在医院做检验，也不错，你可以试试。 |

发帖数: 943 | 48 这几天看到了什么10年老的civic横穿美国，如果大家都认为civic可靠性好，那么当年
那辆95 年ford （型号不知， 当年我不懂车，但我附图了），里程表上都190k了。。
。也好好的跑回来了。 换现在我懂车了，打死我也不会坐那辆车出去。
当时最高时速开到了106mph，也没什么大异常，没很飘，我们怕司机被抓进监狱，才劝
下来的，否则那哥们非得踩到160mph不可。。。 我现在想想都后怕
这车有故事的，据说09年8月的时候，几个芬兰人花1500刀买下来，换了套轮胎就从
kansas到NYC做了个round trip，然后12月份芬兰人回国了，1900刀卖给了个台湾人，
就是我们的司机。
当时一起来的同学邀请我去road trip，当然很兴奋了，那时什么车型，年代，里程，
我是一点概念没有的，就这样上车了，上车就睡，下车就吃。。。从kansas出来，游玩
了dallas， huston， new orleans(去了才知道，没鸡翅的)， orlando， miami， dc
， 费城， nyc， chicago， 然后返程， 全程4000多mile， 就这么回来了。。。
