directly ask "associate prof" position, then it might not work (need strong
publications to back it up if so).
At least three applicants who have NSF CAREER applied to our department (for
one junior position). The first has several OTHER NSF PI grants (besides
CAREER), - on site interview, the second one has CAREER and other grants,
pretty ok publications, - on site interview, and the last one has a recent

发帖数: 937 | 7 我觉得这个不一定，我们头就说过，不把人招来，万一出点意外，
没准position就被dean裁了。budget cut的时候裁这种没装人的
坑是最容易的。
