一个已经出局, offer accepted by someone
两个在waiting list, 但是希望不大
还有一个interview at an ivy league school in three weeks

压力很大

我怎么觉着waitlist希望很大呢？毕竟pool就这么些人，最后大家都会得到一个坑的

I hope so
在waiting list上的一个学校面试了五个candidates, 拿到offer的哥们还有另外5个面
试，估计我还有点希望
另外一个基本没戏'，拿到offer的哥们没有别的面试
ivy　league 的面试我就基本当成免费旅游了
所以目前为止今年拿到offer的可能性几乎是零
最大的问题是我这个方向的位置太少
希望明年位置会多一些

Also tried to make friends with grad students and postdoctoral I met during
my interview. They tend to be more open

又出局一个
给的原因是 too much overlap in research interests with their faculty
WTF..., they can't figure that out from my cv and research statement before
inviting me to the campus interview!

很少听说有学校明明白白告诉你拒你的原因的，一般都会说你很好，所有人都喜欢你，
但是不是best fit, 或者有人more experienced，或者学校的interest变掉了之类的官
话。

这个应该是search committee觉得合适，但是interview的时候，你这个方向的其他教
授表示反对。也算正常吧。我觉得interview完了要是有一个意志坚定的强烈反对那基
本就没戏了。

就当攒onsite经验也不错
很多时候原因都是很复杂的不是一句话的事儿这么简单而且committee或faculty里会
有人不认为这是问题，但也会有其他人介意就是了

I know exactly who that faculty is.
Might have pissed off that guy when I reviewed his ms just recently.
Lesson learned in a hard way: never do signed review before tenure!
