Vic, I was thinking you have watched a great deal more football games than
the average fan. What critical few things do you pay attention to when
observing a game, and what insight do those things give?
Pre-snap, I find the true tight end and then take notice of how the safeties
are deployed. The safeties largely determine the coverage scheme. Where
they move after the snap determines the manner in which they might’ve
disguised the coverage. The true tight end, one that blocks and catches,
will usually tell me if it’s a run or pass. If he blocks down, my eyes go
to the running back. If the true tight end releases, my eyes go to the
quarterback. The strong safety and the true tight end are the players I
watch at the snap of the ball. | N*****m

看着邻居家的孩子恨不能抢过来耍会)。
说唐里有这么一段，老杨林摆阵围瓦岗，小罗成乔装破双枪。讲的是杨林三打
瓦岗寨，摆下一座“一字长蛇阵”，杨林做蛇头，花刀将魏文通做蛇芯， 义王
杨虎臣做蛇尾，又专门请了武功一绝的双枪将定彦平做阵胆。这一字长蛇阵的
厉害在于你打蛇头，蛇尾缠你；你打蛇尾，蛇头咬你。再加上高手坐镇中间。
瓦岗在反围剿的斗争中，先派轻功高手侯君集偷了阵图，又下山偷偷请了老兄弟
罗成，罗成路上巧遇定彦平，拜了个干爹，顺便学了双枪的独门破法。才有了后
来的罗成蒙面假称自己是程咬金兄弟程咬银，单枪破双枪，大破长蛇阵。
说起来NFL里还真有这么一条一字长蛇。没错，就是Offense line, 确切一点应
该把TE，RB，FB也包括进去。NFL的playbook博大精深，我们渡鸟队教练比例
克号称playbook里有7000多个play. 可这一切play全都起之于OL，可以说，OL
的blocking(包括run blocking, pass blocking)的变化比一般人想象的要复杂
的多。加上电视转播里总是把焦点集中在QB，RB，WR这样的skill player身上，
OL/TE/FB在阵法里的作用经常被忽视，事实上，我已经把OL/DL的攻防变化作为
新赛季看球的提高目标之一。
先聊聊传球进攻里的变化，这时候的阵胆是QB，长蛇阵的作用就是保护好阵胆，
自不必多言。其中QB的blind side的OT就是蛇尾，他的任务最重，可以不夸张
的说，QB球一snap出来，就把自己的后背交给blind side OT. 蛇尾被打破，
QB就很可能在没征兆的情况下被300磅左右的DE/OLB整一个平沙落雁丢球式。
因为多数QB都是右撇子，blind side OT就是LT。这就是为什么总有人说，牛的LT
anchor一条OL， anchor,就是QB背后的一个铁锚啊。这也是为什么牛的LT在
草稿时成了一等一的抢手货，96年第4顺位的Jon Odgen, 97年第一顺位的Orlando
Pace, 当年第6顺位的Walter Jones, 去年(2004)第2顺位的Gallery, 都是各队
为将来5-10年下的大赌本。
相比之下，做为蛇头的right tackle就不那么值钱了，今年的Jammal Brown
各项指标也狠牛，又出身于Sooner这样的豪门，就因为是个RT出身，13顺位才
被草稿. 经常列阵在RT身边的TE就是名副其实的蛇芯，收芯时就是RT一个人搞
不定对方DE，TE去帮忙，double team. 这个在对巨人,老鹰的防守时经常出现，
皆因为有全联盟超牛的Strahan和Kearse这样的LDE. 长蛇吐芯就是TE放出去
做接球手的时候。
长蛇阵中间的这3位，两个OG，一个Center, 在对付4-3的防守时一般是double
team一个DT，单抗另一个DT (这个以后砍 over 4-3 和 under 4-3时在说)。
对付3-4，这3位难度就大多了，因为任何一个防守队员，NT，DE，ILB，Safety
都有可能往中间闯。这就要求壮的跟猪一样的OL头脑要比猪明白许多。well,
现实情况下常常事与愿违。今年联盟里越来越多的队把防守转型成3-4就是看
上了pass rush得不可预知。
小结一下，pass offense里的一字长蛇处于防守状态，相比而言，移动快捷的
“小”个OL比虎背熊腰的超壮OL能更有效的完成任务，典型的例子就是Colts的
OL，这些年对大曼的正常运转有汗马功劳。
下篇接着聊跑阵时的一字长蛇。花样比起传阵里要多得多了。 | c******n

个play慢慢研究，不过现在是不可能有这个时间了，还是看热闹算了
