Texans coach Bill O'Brien has opened the door for a potential change at
quarterback following the team's fourth loss in five games Sunday against
the Eagles. He said every position, including quarterback, will be evaluated
during the team's Week 10 bye, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is at the center of the criticism amid Houston'
s recent struggles, which could prompt O'Brien to turn to backup quarterback
Ryan Mallett.
"I don’t live in a hypothetical world," Fitzpatrick said.
Although, left tackle Duane Brown feels it's not fair for Fitzpatrick to
shoulder all of the blame.
"He’s been playing well," Brown said. "We haven’t made it easy for him at
all. It’s tough to make throws when you have guys in your face. They
brought some good blitzes. Our job is to try to protect him the best as we
can.
"Our offense is built around our running game. When we run consistently it
elevates his play and gives us our best chance to win. This game of football
’s a total team effort. You can pinpoint one player and criticize him too
much. I don’t think he deserves as much harsh criticism as he’s getting." | c******n
