The basic function of this position is to research, analyze,
design/architect, maintain, document, recommend and implement specific
desktop and web applications, including in-house programs and subsystems
to support the reporting and maintenance of those systems. Applicant
will work independently using pre-defined program functional
specifications, and as part of a team to create program design
specifications using object-oriented methodologies. Also responsible for
instructing and educating other Programming Team Members in the
functions of in-house systems and subsystems and making recommendations
for software modifications with knowledge of factors relating to
enhanced system performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Follow department standards in coding, debugging, testing, and
documentation.
• Interact with users to determine their software application
objectives, scope and requirements.
• Produce the required analysis and application design, either
individually or by actively participating in the development process.
Produce design specification documents.
• Detect, define and debug applications programs whenever problems
are reported or encountered.
• Test, code and maintain assigned applications, software, and
documentation.
• Review, document, and maintain program logic, user instructions,
installation instructions and operating procedures.
• Design/architect program input/output specifications, detail
design specifications, report layouts and logic flow diagrams in order
to develop code used to support all in-house systems other systems and
all sub-systems.
• Participate or function as Project Lead in the planning,
scheduling and coordination of activities required in developing and
implementing systems relating to in-house programs and subsystems.
• Interact with a team of off-shore developers or function as the
team lead to delegate tasks and manage workload.
• Evaluate new technologies and methodologies for possible
implementation into current Systems.
• Mentor less experienced development team members.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience with C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, .Net 3.5/4.0, Java Script,
XML, HTML, DHTML, WCF (Web Services) in MS-TFS environment using Visual
Studio 2008/2010. LINQ, NHibernate is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written is a must
• Exhibit critical analysis skills
• Experience in design, development, code, and
unit/integration/regression testing of complex applications in an object
oriented discipline.
• Work effectively in a team environment. Meet with Business
Analysts/Project Managers to review functional business requirement
documents.
• Experience with Software Development Lifecycle and agile
methodologies
• 3+ years of Microsoft-centric development experience
• 3+ years of relational database experience, preferably with
ORACLE 10g/11g. Some database design experience preferred.
• Ability to be on-call on a rotating basis
