Think about the poor recruit, mentally breakdown of the team, tough outside environment.... It is really a mess now. None of the big name coach will have the guts to step into the mud and to take the risk of very likely hurting their reputation.
At the same time, it is not wise for penn state to offer high salary to a
big name coach now, it will leave a bad image of the school that football is still the first priority. It is not and should not.
