Architecture最好的会议，一年在美国东部，一年在美国西部，一年在美国国外，这样
轮着开。往届的acceptance rate都比较低， 13-17\%. 今年的PC Chair Mark Hill
觉得Architecture community做的东西非常好，但因为每年录的文章太少，比如相比较
SIGMOD，影响力不够。他决定今年扩大录用的文章数，好东西要让大家知道，今年
一共录paper45篇。今年比较Hot的topic除了传统的power management, reliability和
perxxxxance以为，比较新的就是CMP, architectural support for software debug,
security了。这个Community比较open，提问也比较nice. 今年在ISCA，成立了CPU-CA
(Chinese Professional Union for Computer Architects)，也算是一个好的开始。

楼主说明是HPC Architecture，和光 HPC 不一样。全世界估计就不到十个大户（I, A,
Nv, Qc, A(uk), Xx）和墙街会用上HPCA（注意是Architecture）
就只一个 A 字应该是差之千里吧？我推测是 CPU architecture, cache coherence, ,
multicore interconnect, memory interconnect 之类？要不楼主可否列个内容清单
让我见识见识？感激不尽。。
我承认我孤陋寡闻，从未任职上述大企，亦没有和学术界联系。但给我的感觉是大企希
望各大学的大牛免费奉上新意念，发论文，交流会，大企内部再东施效颦重做一次，不
等於这个门槛会对学生（尤其是非公民）开放。（不是说大企内部不创新，而是说大企
内部自行创新的意念从不对外开放。） |

computer architecture对这个领域所知甚少，不知道读出来好不好找工作，行业前景

architecture，不是implementation,CA的看家法宝是仿真模拟，还有些搞搞编译器，
具体实现的就不是CA，是VLSI了。
说CA就业前景好，要看参照系是什么了。如果一定要上PhD，学些能发挥自己潜能的方
向，CA说实话，缺乏理论，多倚仗嘴皮和雄辩，大部分中国学生都不合适，个人觉得还
是VLSI或者CS更好。 |

of an architect should never be low level implementation details. That's

Memory方向相关研究，由于之前做的都是通信芯片算法实现及tape out，感觉对
computer architecture方向没有感觉，对系里面这方面的课也没有兴趣，十分不喜欢
这个方向的研究方式，每天的状态就是忙于上不喜欢的课，做不喜欢的研究，心里上很
累，还是想做之前的算法研究及VLSI实现，但是发现很少学校有这个方向，而且目前手
里拿的是RA，中国老板也不错，转学似乎挺不好，但是又实在不知该怎么处理？国内
master毕业，工作一年，岁数也不小了，恳请版上前辈给点建议。。。谢谢 |

业，工资比CivLi engineer 低很多。很多学校有Architecture School.
Civil Engineering 是工科，里面方向非常多，囊括国内的道桥，工民建，水通，暖通
，交通，结构，材料，力学，环境等等。
前面的人漏了Civil 一个重要方向，就是Transportation,例如UTexas和Texas A&M 都
有 Transportation Institute
Civil 毕业的很多人都去个个state department of transportation 上班。属于政府
