小说有很多种分类，有武侠类，科幻类，奇幻类，历史小说，神仙传奇，浪漫小说，文
学小说，等等。分类以后，方便了读者，也方便了作者，同时书店和图书馆也可以省不
少麻烦。每种分类的作品，当然都有某种共性，久而久之，这种共性就成了传统，就成
为了格式。格式化以后，往往就成了某种八股文一样的共性，就抑制了创新，特别是武
侠，科幻，爱情小说一类的，久而久之，就背上了一个包袱，为“文学”人士所不齿，
写这类小说的作家就有了stigmata，这个在科幻和浪漫小说中尤其显著，当年科幻大师
Isaac Asimov就写过好多为科幻作品的地位的辩护文章。
直到现在，对于类型(Genre)作品的偏见还是很多，对于科幻，奇幻和神怪小说的偏见
在“文学”作品的评论家里面还是根深蒂固。这帮人看见科幻，奇幻和浪漫作品，也就

An avalanche claimed the life of a Salt Lake City woman today. Search and
rescue crews were able to reach the woman but not until she had been buried
for more than an hour. She died at the hospital.
