我这么说，大家可能会吃惊。因为我是一个Deist，信仰神是爱，神爱每一个人，而且人类是一个休戚相关的整体。我的信仰，比起反对Calvinism预定论的基督教Arminianism（认为只要相信耶稣的人都可以得救）更要liberal很多。那么，我为什么要替永生兄弟鸣不平呢？
这是因为，作为一名Ex-Christian，我深知永生兄弟所持的观点，是mainstream
Christian的观点。Okay, 人数多不一定代表对，这我当然知道，当年我在教会的时候，就因为坚持人人都能得救的universal观点被视为异端。更重要的原因在于--Bible完全支持永生兄弟的观点、也就是Calvinism 的观点。

准确的说，calvin只是一个还没有开始发育的6岁小男孩。
hobbes是他的布老虎。
其实他们的形象被广泛用在各种媒体上，网页、杂志、衣服等等。但是不知道为什么在
国内这两个四格漫画的主人公远没有加菲和snoopy
吃香。甚至国内知道他们的人都不是太多，到现在为止只有译林出过一本精选集。
Bill watterson连载了十年，最终因为和公司方面的矛盾而收笔。
看这本漫画时不断惊叹着作者的想象力，为什么一个成人的脑袋里可以保留那么多关于
童年的回忆？为什么他可以把小孩子时梦想过的东西
变成具体的画面？他的风格太独特了，独特到我很快就厌倦了我的旧爱－－日复一日可
耻重复着自己的Charles Shulz和淘气得有点坏的Jim
Davis.
看别的漫画，一直带着旁观者的心情，好玩也罢新奇也罢，始终可以呆在画外乘凉。看

我预感到加尔文其实是“对”的。对圣徒的拣选，这个应该是“正确”的，版上几个非

俺想补充一点，就是在华人的圈子里，加尔文主义算不上主流
和加尔文主义相对的另一个大宗派，是路德宗（也叫信义宗，福音派，德国的马丁路德
开创的），这
是新教的两位始祖，Arminianism的华人好像不多
像belief和trust的很多基，都是福音派，主要强调的是圣经无误。
另外呢，大部分的原教旨主义（基要派）也称自己是福音派的，其实是差不多的，
个人感觉“原教旨主义”本身很像个贬义词，所以一般不太爱往自己身上说。
但福音派和加尔文主义的区别还是比较明显的。
比如：福音派是因信称义；
加尔文派也说因信称义，但实际是因上帝的选择成义。
