I did not find the 3 month resident requirement in the FAQ page. You will
need a IL driver license. I suggest you fill in the form and get anything
the form requires along the way.
When I was applying for the FOID, I just fill in the form and mailed it out
with a
$10 check.
for CFP, yes, you just go directly to the police station and get the finger
print at the same time. They won't bother you to make another appointment.

here's the recent experiences of my students
"Just came back from applying for the Chicago Firearm Permit (CFP) today.
First, the address for doing everything is 3510 S. Michigan Ave., Room 1027
SE, Chicago IL 60653. Finding on street parking was easy. They are open 8:30
am to 3:30 pm. Monday – Friday.
Second, you must use their yellow (CFP) form period! The copy I made on

stuff is in Asia where ppl think it's so hard to get any credentials for
whatever reason.....), but not in the states, imo. Look at those ppl working
at your local banks who have CFP credential and see what they did before
and where they went to school...it should be obvious. Of course, there are
always exceptions and whether it's useful or not depends on what you want to
do. What are you looking for? |

In fact, my major is Material Engineering. I don't like lab work. So I want
to change. I think CFA and CPA are too complex. Maybe CFP is easier. So I
started to look at CFP. |

intensive training, much better than water down version of regular CFP
classes. The cost is $350 but it is well worth it in my opinion, should
build a solid skill set for you. The drill skills are more inline with
magpul dynamic handgun syllabus.
I can give you more detailed info if you desire.

Then in order to get CFP, you need to take a 5 hours class.
To apply for CFP, go to 4770 S. Kedzie Avenue, with all the documents
listed in the pdf file.

俺手里现在还没有家伙，要不就和你一起行动了。
打算下周申请CFP，然后想办法把我的colt1911运过来注册一下。好像很麻烦啊！！
不知有没有这方面的经验，再介绍一下。
目前我把手枪存在dallas银行deposit box里面，可以开车取回来，再CFP在手的情况下
，能否注册呢？规定够枪之日起，5日内必须登记注册。可是我的枪是两年前在texas买
的，好像不在此例啊。
头疼的事一个接一个啊。 |

多各种专业方面的书。
CFP比较而言，是一个较广泛但不精的专业（个人认为），主要是因为它包含了太多的
不同专业的知识。投资，税务，保险，退休基金，遗产计划等都包在内，但这些都有其
专门的职业相对应。CFP的好处是让某一项专业人士了解其它专业的知识。 |

有三年的有效期。经过一个半月的折腾，终于把州，市两个文件都拿到了，现在可以正
式买枪了！！！
下个礼拜要出趟远门，十一月底才回来，争取2011年之内买到手第一支枪。作为新手，
老生常谈的问题就是第一支枪买什么比较好？我对长枪还没怎么学习，只对手枪有一点
初步知识，说实话不知道买什么好，想买一支Beretta 92,也就是上周五试过的，总觉
得有美军采购专家把关的枪，应该不会错吧。大家多给点建议啊.先谢了。 |

过六月份注册新买的散弹枪，那儿的枪支管理部门已经搬到chicago police
headquarter：

绿线地铁，35街下车。
芝加哥市警察局的网站一直没有更新这个变化。 |

class。 有什么推荐吗？有没有周末的班啊？
我住在芝加哥市区，据说即使买了枪也不能把枪放家里，要寄存到郊区的靶场。唉，真
是悲催的规定啊。
还是很怀念Texas的。 |
