道是读EE还是CS. 并且design CPU的技术好象都很成熟吧，不知道天天做project累得
半死，毕业能不能找份好工作？Digital IC 以后的发展方向是什么？还是CPU? 感觉如
果一直做同样的事很boring.
还有analog IC 如果要做high speed, low power 是不是需要很好的device,
fabrication background?
再请教大家对MEMS的就业怎么看？

强，这方向还没什么funding,读博可能没钱，准备找工作，不知道有没有大牛了解现在
就业情况？
Digital和analog哪个好点？
Digital 招的多是ASIC 还是做processor的？

也不需要太多fancy的功能
只要能够精确到0.1 uA, digital显示，小一点，不要太贵就好
就是一般lab用途
以前用的simpson ammeter大小合适，价格便宜，
但是analog的，而且只能精确到 1 uA
所以想换一个更精确点的digital的，
有没有什么推荐的？多谢 |

我自己没玩过digital ic. 不过要在工业界广泛推广digital ic还是不容易吧，analog
时间太久了。很多公司宁可用单片机加A/D或者最多自己搞ASIC吧。
再说搞power managment多数还是老白人，要搞dsp之类的省一点点效率要学很多新招，
只怕不容易。 |

发帖数: 57 | 8 Phd的项目是做wireless sensor，基本就是一个RC电路的原理，工作就是设计，建模，
仿真，fabricate，测试。。。
感觉以后找工作的话这个方向比较冷门，所以想选一些电路方向的课增加点机会。（以
前算是Solid State方向，但好久不做了有些淡忘）
目前已经修了Digital IC和Analog IC的graduate课程，想接下去选两门RF IC的课做做
课程Project，有可能的话去听听ADC/DAC，不知这样的计划怎么样
现在比较困惑的是选课到底往Analog/RF 方向还是往Digital方向（可以继续上
verification DSP之类的课）
各位给点意见吧~谢谢！ |

2是guvest提到的low power design.
基本上都被power eletronics专业人士痛扁一顿。
不过这些都是都有人在做，有公司在用，自然也有机会。前2天和一个senior analog d
esigner聊，他认为10年之内digitally controller会取代analog. 10年我不同意，太久
。
dc-dc converter一个热点应用领域就是portable electronics. 》80%的市场是buck，
power engineer们算算3大loss, 得出最优负载下，有>92%的效率算是很不错了。更别
说light load下。
guvest说，buck的design应该和最耗电的cpu (gpp - general purpose processor)一起
来考虑。其实很make sense.
虽然这个范围已经超过buck converter以及controller design的本身，但controller还
是可以进化的，这个就是主要的东西。

而2者本身也是互相促进的。如果apple说我愿意$10买一个buck, 谁能做一个用电时间更
长的，我相信digital controller就是方向。
而现在的现实只是谁便宜，用谁的。
我说的那个原理是buck 输出未必要是1.2V, 可以在0.6 & 1.2v, 取决于gpp的使用。对
，关键就是buck controller 要能track多块. 关键也不是随时随刻，而是类似heavy l
oad and lightly load.
就算是leakage power, 如果vdd降下来，那也能省不少。
对于high performance processor的耗电的话，google/ms这些建cloud computing的那
些center一定是把热量给收集起来。 对于consumer electronics, 还不如采集太阳能也
不能采集自己发的热。

What's the difference between them? Why two kinds of power supply are
offered?

design:
(1) Short them on the die (silicon)
(2) Short them on the package level
(3) Short them on the board levl
The fisrt approcah is the easiset way, however, the digital ground has more
affect on the analog ground.
The second approcah is the most common way in the chip design, usually there
is a SOLID gound plane to short all grounds.

具体怎么做，一般来说都是各有利弊，列个pro and con的table来权衡取舍。一般而言
，如果问题很严重并且比较简单比较linear，analog可以直接上，如果比较复杂order
高算法复杂，就得靠digital，但是得确保analog domain的东西还能用。有algorithm
的东西, analog一般不直接碰，顶多digitally assisted calibration。
