在一小公司干了6年的board level design, 从archetecture到画schematic 到
prototype bring up. lead了大大小小几十个产品 大到 10 个卡的 Ethernet base
modeler system, 小到 简单的 2口 Ethernet media converter。 最近和老板闹翻想

昨天收到麒麟盒 (新版白色盒, 沒有自帶無線適配器. 不想花$20買它的適配器), 試用
我自己的 usb 無線適配器失敗, 強迫我研究要用家裡 wired network. 研究了半小時, 連線正確
的電纜後開通了.
Very shung ah! pre-wired Ethernet at home. 雖然不是什麼新奇的東東, 但在家裡
有感覺很高科技 ah.

对于不喜欢wireless的人来说，可以用这个Wall Plugged Ethernet Bridge走网线：

它可以把房子里的电线转换成网线。只需买一个连在modem上，再插在墙上插座上，家
里电线就成了网线了。

以用网线连电脑或者internet phone了。我刚装了2个，网络电话可以打，没问题。但网速没测，不
知道会怎么样。等测了再上来报告一下。 |

poe的话，我的路由器离garage 比较远。也需要扯很长的线。 家里一直用wifi，房子
倒是预设了ethernet，但是没装 rj45 wall plate。 改天上attic 看看有没有预设的
ethernet cable， 如果有还比较简单， 没有的话，扯那么长的线，还是比较难看。 |

发帖数: 172 | 22 这里面的故事是，8P的modular connector／cable一开始是用在电话线上的，一条电话
只要两个接线，就用了最中央的＃4和＃5（比较操蛋），就是8P2C。后来Ethernet也用
8P的modular connector／cable，但10M/100M只要两对4根线，T568A就用＃3和＃6，
T568B用＃1和＃2，来走第二对，就是8P4C。到后来gigabit Ethernet要用4对8线全用
，就没区别了，反正＃4/5，＃1/2，＃3/6，＃7/8都是对，8P8C。
T568A还是T568B，只有在讲到老式的10/100Mbps终端时才有意义，比如hub，switch，
PC，etc。对于cable和墙内的排线没意义，只要对（differential pair）和 pin－to
－pin对了就行了。
这里的多数都在不懂装懂。 |

Verizon给了你一个Fios router和一个extender? 如果这样,你把ONT和router的网线拔
掉,看看是不是还能上网.如果没影响,可以把extender退掉.缺省的设置是ONT -> COAX
-> ROUTER,他们可能会关掉你的ONT上的ethernet端口.跟他们确认一下不影响你的上网. |

router的instrustion上写的，modem上面应该有至少三个插槽，一个是接dsl or cable,一个是接ethernet cable,另一个就是电源插头的。
可是我从comcast租的这个modem如果接上了这个ethernet cable，就没有插槽来接有线网的线了啊。找不到网络还怎么装wireless router啊？
完全不懂啊，能不能帮我一下？！

发帖数: 4522 | 40 Verizon FIOS给的那个Actiontec路由器，第一代很烂，现在新的已经好多了，一般家
庭用没有问题，当然跟那些刷了番茄、dd-wrt的神由还是没法比。
要用神由的，网上能查到步骤。简单说就是神由为主，actiontec为辅（设成bridge).
另外还跟你安装fios的方法有关，fios的出线ethernet跟coax都可以，如果你不提要求
，缺省安装是用coax，这样的话你以后换神由会麻烦些，因为只有actiontec带coax,
得挂在中间做bridge. 如果安装时用了ethernet那就方便很多，不看电视的话干脆换掉
actiontec，要看电视，actiontec挂神由后面就行。
但用coax也有好处，很多老房子没布网线，cable倒是到处有接口，走coax的话可以把
路由器挪到合适的地方，另外如果ebay上再淘actiontec，可以设moca, 有cable的地方
就能连，比无线稳定得多。
我个人觉得有fios的地方还是别倒回去用comcast(或者RCN这些cable公司），根本不是
同一代技术，没有可比性。就听comcast广告里诋毁fios那股子疯劲，就... 阅读全帖 |

还很难说。 这个题目技术性有点强， 通俗地说， Qfabric 没有遵照标准，自己也不
明说是什么技术
细节， 但是效果好。 Vdx 遵照IEEE标准， 性能也还可以，不像juniper 认为得那样
什么都做不了。

still have issues. If you do, then the bottleneck is your WAN connection,
then there is probably nothing you can do, other than upgrading your WAN
connection or switching to some other service provider.
If not, you may consider getting a faster router. Wireless-N has three
categories with different max theoretical speeds: 150 Mbps 300 Mbps and 600
Mbps. 300 Mbps ones should be good enough for HD streaming.
