只发现和土耳其接壤处的“色雷斯”和Greece发音比较接近，而且这个地方
确实在希腊历史中占有重要地位。
另外一个问题，那些企图以“匈牙利（Hungary）”这个名称和
匈奴联系的写手应该了解一下，这个国家的人民称自己是Magyar，完全没有带Hun的词
虽然我也相信这个国家确实和匈奴有很大关系，至少我在布达佩斯的电车上看到
贴着的“布达佩斯地铁、巴士和电车图”至少我认识的Budapast/Bus/Metro这几个
词语的顺序和汉语完全一致，再就是匈牙利的地址写法也是先城市后地区再街道
然后号码，和汉语顺序完全一致，另外就是姓名结构也是姓在前名在后。总之
可以说名词普通格词序和汉语完全一致，而这一点和欧洲别的语言都不同，却是
语言习惯中最难改变的。

“古希腊文化漫谈”，同大家好好分享一下，毕竟这是我们现代科学文明的源头。
先说Greece。同“Hellas”一样，这个词，或这个人，也是来自丢卡利翁和皮拉的
家族，丢卡利翁和皮拉有一个女儿(同时也是赫伦的姐妹)，名叫潘多拉(和普罗米修
斯的弟媳同名，但不是一个人)，此女同宙斯私通，生下两个儿子，老大叫拉丁诺斯，
被认为是拉丁人的祖先，“Latin”一词即源于“Latinus”；老二叫做格雷卡斯，
被认为是希腊人的祖先，“Greece”一词从“Graecus”演变而来。这个传说虽然流
行，但恐怕不是早期希腊神话的原貌，因为在希腊神话成型的年代里，拉丁人还是
亚平宁半岛上的“蛮族”，希腊人对他们基本上不屑一顾，怎么可能让他们作老大，
自己屈居老二呢？很可能，这是希腊诸城邦屈服于罗马的权威之后(公元前二世纪)，
罗马人(拉丁人)制造出这个故事以加强其权威的合理合法性，甚至也有可能是某些
希腊学者为了同罗马老大哥拉亲戚而编写的。至于此神话的原貌到底如何，恐怕只

盛夏的party
春天不是读书天，ms夏天也不像，under们没有课，professor们germany的germany,
spain的spain, greece的greece, malaysia的malaysia, 于是phd们也不只乖乖做实验
，尽情enjoy summer of new york才是要紧。
今天老板不在，闲来无事回顾了一下我的记事本，八月里四个周末居然有三个invited
party，另一个周末是boston两日游，外加一次非周末的自助picnic，另有新老zju人
lunch和dinner共计3次，fz。然而对酒当歌人生几何，得意须尽欢，明年8月谁又知道
别人那些谁都在哪里呢。
party有两个生日，PY的thirty-something hottest party, 小Q28岁的roof garden
bbq，还有刚过去的一个是 hotpot style欢迎+别离。
PY的生日很幸福的有妈妈在，我们一干人也很幸福的有可口家常菜吃，PY认识人很多，
所以party上的人十之七八是彼此第一次见，对我而言，十之二点五是以前和她一起fb

最近念叨IM越来越多。一来上了年纪，只能跟年轻人比IM，或者比长距离，或者比奇怪
场合下的游泳。二来练IM的似乎也越来越多，特别是不偏科并且身体条件一般的人。为
了给小孩支招，我自己也必须与时俱进，自己多体会。第三，也是上了年纪的缘故，我
觉得蛙泳段对髋部和大腿左右肌肉的锻炼，非常有助于减缓自由泳和仰泳成绩的退步。
第四，还是蛙泳段的手臂动作，对保持肩胸肌肉的力量非常有好处；多游蛙泳，特别是
故意手臂加力，争取手臂在水上前送（肘高于水属于犯规，正规比赛泳娃勿学），是非
常完美的划船力量训练，这样游泳和划船可以完美的结合起来。于是最近自由泳比例越

第一夜：
按着LP的地图，和老公拖着行李箱在SYNTAGMA附近的小街里穿行，一连问了五家大小酒
店宾馆，居然都客满。因为太晚了，所以在找到一家有空房的第六家名不见LP的小店就
决定住下了，是一家民居楼改造的旅馆。位置靠近最热闹的旅游区，近处就是一个小教
堂，只有水池公用卫生间，床单不太干净，有小阳台，对着卫城，夜景很美。

很久以前，我希望可以去南极（Antarctica）。
但是作了功课以后，知道那是个不太有聊的地方，还是留着等将来老了以后，金银的时
候再去吧。
然后不久以前，一起做做功课，我们又把斐济（Fiji），塔希提（Tahiti），委内瑞拉
（Venezuela），坦桑尼亚（Tanzania），巴西（Brazil）这些地方也一一排除。
它们，真的很诱惑，但是出于某些原因，还是让它们排着队，等我们将来有机会再一一
扫过吧。
最终决定的目的地，绝对出乎于我以前的预料，居然是“大俗地”希腊（Greece）。
也许，我们也要“非诚勿扰”吧。
夏天的希腊，不仅骄阳似火，也是物价上火的旅游旺季。
然后欧洲的主权债务危机，又点燃了希腊人民心中，罢工思潮这把热火。

然后话说春天从西班牙（Spain）回来，我们对欧洲的失望是每况愈上。
出发之前自然对希腊的预期也是削了好几层皮儿。
但是希腊居然让我们重新看到了它的美丽。
我这个“挑钩王”继续孜孜不倦地看一堆又一堆的石头遗址。

下了班，回家会合新同学，取了行李，去机场。
在机场的 Wendy's 买了汉堡包吃。
然后飞机正点起飞，飞往荷兰（Netherlands）首都阿姆斯特丹（Amsterdam）。
我们的之旅开始了，哈哈哈哈哈哈。
飞机票是2012年05月13日从 www.delta.com 购买，每个人1321.50美元两个人一共2643
.00美元。
旺季的票飞雅典，比平常还是贵了不少。

一早到了阿姆斯特丹。
本来想带新同学去玩玩儿角子机和看看那个小博物馆。
一不小心过了海关，就没法去了。
先去餐厅（Market Foodcourt Lounge I 850）吃些泰国菜当早餐。
然后在躺椅区躺着休息等着中午飞雅典（Athens）的飞机。
看黑白电影《基督山伯爵》，好老的片子了，不过还挺有意思。

早上8：40起床。
吃早餐。
然后新同学回去继续睡觉。
我先去酒店的泳池边照张像，今天继续大风。
然后自己去米科诺斯岛考古博物馆（Archaeological Museum of Mykonos）参观一下。
博物馆门票2欧元。
这里有一些提洛岛（Delos）的文物展出。
很多陶罐子。
应该是一块石质墓碑。
上面刻画的可能是战船以及上面的士兵。
还是精美的陶罐。
这个陶罐非常巨大，雕刻也非常精美。
然后回旅馆，路上看见海滩俱乐部的广告拍一张。
回到旅馆照照相。
旅店祝贺我们的葡萄酒。
旅馆一景。
结帐，寄存行李。
然后11：00开着沙滩车（Quad）我们今天继续去米科诺斯岛（Mykonos）南面的海滩玩
儿。
先来到 Paraga 海滩。
不知道我们是不是开错地方了，这里很冷清。
米科诺斯岛这里开车我们也总是迷路，气死了。
不管怎样，咱俩先合张影吧。

离开，换个沙滩玩儿。
开到普拉提斯.吉罗斯海滩（Platys Gialos Beach）。
这里比较热闹，就这里了。

今天全天参观梅特欧拉暨“天空之城修道院”（Meteora）。
“天空之城修道院”可以说是此次希腊（Greece）之行最大的收获了，非常美丽。
不过新同学一开始觉得这个东东很像北京天津附近的盘山，所以差点被她从计划中砍掉。
“天空之城修道院”是希腊一处非常有名的世界遗产。
它其实就是建立在拔地而起的一片巨大山石之上的东正教（Orthodox）的修道院群。
很早以前，因为这里远离人烟，就开始有隐士在这片巨大山石的岩洞和石缝中居住。
公元14世纪左右，随着拜占庭帝国（Byzantine Empire）的衰落和奥特曼土耳其帝国（
Ottoman Turkish Empire）的扩张，这里的隐士啊，教士啊，开始感受到威胁。
为了保护自己的安全，他们开始在这些险峻的山石上修建修道院。
大概一共修了20多座，现存的可以参观的还有6座（我这个“挑钩王”今天要一一看过
）。
进入修道院原来要爬很长的木梯，或者坐用绳子拉着的吊篮上去。
现在修了栈道后，上去就很容易了。
早上8：15我自己起床，8：45自己出发先去给新同学探探路。
新同学这个“睡美神”则继续呼呼大睡。
