Guatemala。我们是中国护照，但是有美国绿卡。前几年在加勒比海做游轮都从来没有
需要签证过。这次订票的 Expedia Agent说我们需要Guatemala VISA。我们去
Guatemala的使馆网页查了也发信问了，他们也说需要。但是我知道，很多游轮公司对
于这种情况是，即便没有签证，如果有绿卡的话仍然让你上船，但是把你的护照hold起
来，最后再还给你。请问这里有没有坐过NCL Pearl这条船，走的这一条线（Depart
from New Orleans, 途径Mexico, Cyaman Islands, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize)
。他们会让我们这样持有美国绿卡的中国公民直接上船吗？ 主要是家附近没有危地马
拉使馆，他们签证还非要面签，太麻烦了。多谢！ |

从旧金山到san Salvador， 再转机到guatemala city不知道可行否。
中国护照，有返美国签证，和guatemala的CA-4签证。
查了下delta的网站， 对中国公民有如下规定。问题是CA-4算不算stamped visa？
telex又是什么东西啊。

程， 比sfo->guatemala的双程往返票还便宜。

问题。实际上如果你了解西班牙语的发音的话，Guatemala一般开头的G确实发成/g/的
音，这个和英语一样。但是在中南美洲的很多地方，很多时候开头的/g/音被弱化成吃
掉了喉咙摩擦音而变成了/wa:tema:la:/，听上去像是/g/音变成了/w/音。所以中文的
翻译是实际上是经过仔细考虑反复斟酌的。 |

最早的计划是2009年12月24日（四）出发，2010年01月03日（日）回来，一共是11天。
需要请4天假。
然后计划改到2010年01月15日（五）出发，2010年01月25日（一）回来，一共是11天。

然后计划取消。
然后计划改到2010年12月31日（五）出发，2011年01月10日（一）回来，一共是11天。

2009年09月09日去纽约开会时顺便去危地马拉驻纽约领事馆办签证。
当天取，25美元签证费。
2010年10月14日去危地马拉驻罗德岛领事馆办签证。
当场取，两个人每人25美元共50美元签证费。
新同学在领事馆内和一幅画合影。

成行。
只是多了一个人。。。
危地马拉这个国家向往已久，最初应该是源自听说了蒂卡尔国家公园（Tikal National
Park）这个地方。
然后知道了殖民城市安提瓜（Antigua），知道了风景如画的阿蒂特兰湖（Lago de
Atitlan）。
当然，还知道了可以顺便参观位于危地马拉与洪都拉斯（Honduras）交界的科潘玛雅古
城（Maya Site of Copan）。
不大的国家，却可以在很短的时间内，从很多不同的视角去欣赏。
然后，就是 N 年前不知道谁说的，持中国护照者不能入境，更增添了自己的向往。
N 年前的这个故事应该源自中国在1997年罕有的否决了向危地马拉派遣军事观察员的提
议，结果两国交恶。
然后连中央电视台的入境采访申请都被拒了。
然后，中国终于强大了。。。
不知道是真是假。
回主题。
这次旅行，时间不多，只有11天。
不过危地马拉的重中之重，还是都看到了。
只是行程比较辛苦，好多天都要凌晨3，4点起床。
总的来说。

庆日多放两天假，一算只要请两天假就可以连着放九天，很合算啊。于是连夜找机票还
不至于太贵、天气不至于太差、签证不至于太难、地方不至于太无聊的，最后选择了危
地马拉。也没什么时间准备，只定了第一天的shuttle和旅馆，就出发了，一路走一路
改计划，还算顺利完成。

parallels between the two, therefore, miss the mark. American exceptionalism
unmentioned in polite company includes genocide (Native Americans), slavery

and I checked the requirement, and Chinese citizen is required to have a
visa to enter Guatemala...(not specified if a visa is required for cruise) I
also tried to call the Guatemala embassy, can not get through, and their
embassy website is down...
Hate this country, and I decide to book the cruise to Mexico only |

Chichen Itza-Cancun-LAX,大家给提些意见？
主要目的是玛雅文化遗址。Copan和Calakmul目前没有包括在内。
是不是时间比较紧张？或者干脆略去Guatemala-Tikal，只游墨西哥境内？
除了来去及Guatemala City-Tikal飞机外，其它均为大巴，背包游，住小旅店。

协会最近有个名单，只有名单上合格的学校才有认证资格，才可以在德州做住院医。他
给我的名单上中国无一所医学院校合格。请看附件。按此类推，我们就全部无法申请德
州的program了。请大家核实并求助。

from India and dozens of Central American migrants.
Eight of the Indian citizens, including two minors, were being transported
in a truck near Mexico's border with Guatemala when they were detained.
Twenty-five Guatemalan migrants and three Salvadorans were also aboard the
vehicle.
The National Immigration Institute said Friday the truck was being driven by
