我90年代初期， 在 Montgomery county Maryland 上学。。 那时候， 我的学校估计
是最多5% hispanic， 其他基本是白人。 亚洲人更加少。 那学校还是在DC 和
Maryland的边界。 如果你再往 maryland 里面去点，白人更加多。
二十多年后， Montgomery county 基本全变成hispanics
90年代， 我根本就不知道英文里有 “hijab” 这个词, 现在美国到处hijab。。。
原来美国的移民， 基本就是欧洲的caucasian， 根本不像你说什么东北乱炖。
你去youtube看看50， 60 年代的Los Angeles, 再比较一下现在的LA， 就知道了
California在80年代， 90年代初， 还是有时蓝， 有时红。 这是一个homogeneous 的
民主国家的表现。 california 现在一党专政， 就是靠改变race来achieve 成的 |

如医院和学校着“BRUQUA”装。此前即2004年，法国已经立法禁止穆斯林妇女在教室中

“BRUQUA”翻译成汉语是指穆斯林妇女的传统服饰之一罩袍。其特点是将全身裹住
，毫发不露。不过为了便于理解本文，必须先介绍一下穆斯林妇女的常见服饰。第一种

中国乌鲁木齐——卢纳(Luna)喜欢牛仔服和蕾丝，会流利地说好几门语言，为自己是个
成功的国际商务翻译而骄傲。表面看来，她就是中国政府正在尽力塑造的那种同化了的
维吾尔人的典型。她在中国最西部的新疆维吾尔自治区长大，最终搬到了遥远的北京。
维吾尔人是中国的少数民族，大多为穆斯林，其语言属突厥语族。在新疆，维吾尔女性
的最重要角色是为人妻母，但在北京，卢纳觉得，比起童年时身处的保守世界，待在多
数民族汉人中间更加自在。
不过，在自己的职业抱负与对官方限制维吾尔人生活方式的愤怒之间，卢纳感到越来越
矛盾。“中国政府越是强迫我们按汉人的方式生活，我们就越会去寻找表达维吾尔人身
份的方法，”她说。为了避免警方的报复，卢纳与接受本文采访的其他人一样，只愿公
布昵称。
