发帖数: 110 | 2 前些时候，Hospira宣布要以2.20/股来收购Javelin Pharmaceuticals ，结果最近又宣
布延长offer。因为持有JAV，scottrade发email问是否参与这个offer，加入的话就交$
25。 是新手没遇到过这种情况，请教大牛一个问题。
看了JAV网站首页上的两则消息，感觉两者还是挺可能交易成功的。如果赌这个的话，
选择加入这个offer好像是最简单的做法。 问题是如果不加入会怎样呢？看到一句“如
果并购成功, Javelin's shares would cease to be traded on the NYSE Amex”。所
以如果没通过scottrade加入这个交易的话， 手里的JAV股票还能继续买卖，或者卖给
Hospira吗？

IT，这个CHICAGO需求量不少，当然和东西岸有差距。
生物，有UC/西北/UIC/LOYOLA/NIU/RASH，博士后的机会还是大把的。
化学/化工，和东岸有很大差距，但是也有ABBOTT，BAXTOR，HOSPIRA，还有孟山都的一
个BRANCH。BP原来总部在这，现在搬走了，还有不少工程师在这。
机械工程，有CAT/JOHN DEERE，好有好多三大的BRANCH，
EE，有MOt，北部紧临的WISCONSIN有JOHNSON CONTROL，这可是控制业的老大。
精算，会计，MBA，有CME/CBOT，几大保险公司，也有北方信托这样的大银行，有
DISCOVERCARD。还有CITADEL这样最大的HIDGE FUND。
食品应该是最多的了，N多大公司在这。
剩下F2们从事的职业，比如护士/代理/移民律师什么的也不少。
主要优点就是房价便宜。俺家的房子，现在跌到只有35万了，要是到鬼谷，这么大的怎
么也要8，90万吧？好大学多，有三所，西北，只大，UIUC。
华人F1来的，孩子上个UIUC都是垫底的。

大药厂应该趁美国还没有限制买下几家仿制药厂作为自己销售渠道。不过估计中国一但
出价美国就会限制。这块肥肉哪能给中国人。 |

如epinephrine，sodium bicarb，d50（葡萄糖注射液），生理盐水...
你很难想象这么一个医疗高度发达的美国，现在会严重短缺生理盐水和葡萄糖。生理盐
水短缺据说是因为波多黎各飓风影响，其它基本药物就不知道找什么理由了。这一波短
缺下来，普药肯定要大涨价。
去年mylan把epipen价格翻倍引起公愤，那还算consumer product，消费者感觉得到，
但是mylan也是最主要的generic药生产商，提高那些医院必备的基本药物价格普通消费
者就不知道了。
其实big pharm早就准备好了，pfizer15年买下主要的静脉给药生产厂hospira，
novatis旗下的山都士是美国最大generic药生产公司。东方不亮西方亮，虽然没有什么
好药，把这些最基本的老药价格翻几倍还是很简单的。反正现在美元跌，什么东西都涨
价，药涨价也不算太离谱。不过指望医疗保险降下来的川粉就要失望了。 |

要是有机合成，药理毒理什么的，还是老实在博士屯呆着吧。这些方向LAYOFF再找工作
比较难，特别是CHICAGO，像样的BIGPHARM很少。博士屯研发的公司多点，找工作希望
还大一些。
要是药剂药动代谢什么的，去哪无所谓。大的LAYOFF了还能去中小公司。CHICAGO还算
有一些这样的公司，HOSPIRA，BAXTER什么的。
现在制药行业不稳定，LAYOFF很频繁，还是要小心。ABBOYT都LAY过N次了。我个人觉得
，下一个可能被吞并的BIG PHARM就是ABBOTT了。ABBOTT这几年已经被剥离了不少资产
了。
18万对个人来说算不错了，对家庭来说就一般了，在CHICAGO，也就能买NAPERVILLE，
BUFFALO GROVE这种中等学区的房子，好区的房子基本是没戏的。
如果说是为了改善生活条件什么来，那真是没必要。 |

总部在什么地方，指望一个中部的公司在西岸付你高工资，那不是缘木求鱼。Santa
Monica一大票做web的公司，Senior的base起薪最低12万，一般是13,4万的样子。我说
principal起薪15万，没错吧？做web的公司，senior可不是像医疗器械公司博士毕业进
去就给。混到principal时间就更长了。医疗器械的principal的package其实比web公司
的senior还要低一些，这就是为什么在santa monica见不到什么医疗器械公司的原因。 |

ABT上个五年的时间就几乎就是都在填HUMIRA这个黑洞
所以一有机会就把当年搞来HUMIRA的人都给赶走了
还顺道逼走了一个石达开，也就是现在那个HOSPIRA
从CEO老鼠坏特到各级主管对外都跟祥林嫂似的念叨:
“俺们才是懂ABBOTT BUSINESS的人”
为什么丫，不就是给外来的和尚给搞怕了吗
麻省那个BIOSCIENCE中心是跟着HUMIRA过来的，
一直就和本部不对付，当然德国人就更讨厌了
麻省那边也就把着个HUMIRA不放手，
却没开发出什么新药，HUMIRA本身的挖潜也没搞起来
基本上是鸡肋部门了，还“好多人RELOCATE到MA”，你没做梦吧
眼看著就只能靠一个HUMIRA撑著，一个STENT在HYPE，
ABT是严重缺钱，不然它著急把DIAGNOSIS部门卖给GE干什么 |

发帖数: 247 | 50 现在袄把吗政策不是正在向过了专利保护的药物倾斜吗?其实有好些generic的要厂并不
小,只是研发的投入比例没那么高而已,但也基本上达10%了.
我知道的Hospira好象不错,它也做generic.而且好象它办的H1B真的不少. |
