每种文化在受到冲巨大突击，直至面临生死存亡的时刻，自然会一力求变。
怎么变？最常见的，一曰改良革命，一曰复古。
这原教旨主义，就约略算在复古的变法里：国家败成这样，都是因为人心不古，不能坚
守古训。从一定程度上，原教旨主义有点像清教徒，是一种纯结宗教的运动。
最早跟原教旨主义接近的，是十世纪时在阿拉伯出现的，那时，正是蒙古人入侵，穆斯
林节节败退的时候。直至埃及人打败了蒙古骑兵，蒙古人改信了穆斯林，才算完。也正
是因为这事（穆斯林地区的基督徒支持蒙古兵），穆斯林开始了对基督徒的不宽容。
近现代的原教旨主义，当然是西方兴起以后的事（标志性事件是法国人占领埃及。曾经
的穆斯林的骄傲，埃及陆军在法国兵面前不堪一击，当然震动整个穆斯林世界。）
像现在比较有影响的原教旨主义教派，比如 Wahhabi，Salafi，都是在 18－19 世纪出
现/复兴/壮大的。我们比较熟悉的著名的苏丹马赫迪起义（杀死洋枪队队长戈登），就
是原教旨主义运动，从起义领袖取名马赫迪就可以看出。

我看你对宗教理解还不够完全。当前的主流宗教，只有Judeo-Christian religion (包
括Islam)是 monotheistic (i.e. only one God). 其他的教(e.g. Hinduism)都有多个
Gods (pleural). 所以美元上这个 "God"指的就是那个 Judeo-Christian "God". 不
过这也不是问题所在。问题是 separation of church and state的含义是政府事务应
不受任何宗教影响，不单指基督教。
真正有没有这个法律我不知道。我的意思是指就美政府的运作来看，根本没有
separation of church and state. |

如果我没理解错的话，这是在特定人群93112个囚犯中的问卷答案中汇总的数据。其中
18381份未回答信仰。
不知这特定人群，便无法随意结论。
如果天主教占总人口比例超过39.164%，那就只能说其犯罪率低于平均。
再比如，如果是问卷，一个群体更诚实，另一群体更易撒谎，那回答自己有犯罪的问卷
就要考虑真实回答的比率问题。
再比如，从未接触宗教的，不认识Atheist这个字的，或者干脆以为Atheist是个宗教的，就不选，就全落在那18381份里了。
要知道，圣经说：
路加12:8-9 我又告诉你们，凡在人面前，在我里面承认我的，人子在神的使者面前，
也必在他里面承认他；那在人面前不认我的，人子在神的使者面前，也必否认他。
十诫亦讲不可作假见证。
所以俺认为那18381未回答信仰者中，没有信圣经的天主/新/犹太等诸Judeo-Christian
。应该都是不信圣经的。
所以请大家根据美国人口宗教比例算算吧。

his reaction was: how can something be w/o god and still called a religion?
Why he reacted that way? 'Religion' is word closely tied to Judeo-
