发帖数: 204 | 5 申请了K99，回答了review的问题后，Advisory Council和Council Meeting推荐给。去年PO在电话里口头说如果没有国会不cut NIH的funding太厉害就给钱（但他们没有留下任何字面证据，要写也是regarding the POSSIBLE funding ）。可是Project Period Begin Date已经过去了两个月还没有消息，email给PO泥沉大海。问另外一个Grants Management Specialist，告知Vertebrate Animal还没review好。唉，真难搞啊！看来还是那些回国找千青的好啊。然后想改budget，皮球踢来踢去的看了是没戏啦。
哪里都是politics，中国的那套好歹还能稍微看懂一点，这里可是一团雾水。各位大侠有grant拖几个月的吗？ |

This doesn't matter. It's your desired begin date. The real begin date is
when they issue the grant. Unless you need the money like now now now, the
later the begin date the better for you -- you can wait longer to write the
next grant. :)
This means it's still in the process and you're still in.

只能慢慢等啦，听他们说是还在准备paperwork，也就是说还可能有戏。
改budget是我们department的grant assistant当时不按我的budget来，我想给自己加工资她却用我去年submit时的工资标准，搞得budget的工资比我现在的都低了几千，她也不让budget开会的travel什么的（幸亏K99的budget可以挪来挪去的）。我们实验室的一个同事告诉我他后来改budget很容易，所以我就在submit的时候没有跟那个小秘争来争去的。
现在学校说除非NIH给承诺同意才重新投budget（因为去年学校有人re-budget被拒了），而NIH说只有学校resubmit的budget他们才考虑——变死循环了。 |

NIH allows you to have only one career development application pending peer
review at any time. That means you may not apply for two career development
grants simultaneously or apply for a career development award while another
career development application awaits review.
In the latter case, you have to wait until the review is complete or
withdraw the first application before you can submit your next one.

想试一下 k99， 但是有一些问题，
1. 不知道1st submission中的概率有多大，是不是都需要resubmission? 如果
resubmit 的话，我怕已经超过5年的限度了. 如果第一次申请一般中不了，我就不申了
。感觉自己的publications 很弱
2. reference letter: 有一些合作者是其他学校的，只是通过Email来往，是不是也可
以让他来写推荐信？外校合作者的推荐信是不是比本系的PI的更好？
3. 是不是一定要找comentor?
