life insurance. 30 year, 500k$ for each person if you are double income.
After 30 year, your children will earn money by themselves. 25-30 is the
best time for 30 year term life. All whole life insurance is not worth the

我那时候非常需要用钱，whole life基本上没有用，term省的钱投资会比whole life
withdraw value多很多很多。
如果老而不死term就更合算了，多活一年term省的钱投资index fund就能多滚一年。
whole life上限就是100万。 而且好像如果我长命过百岁whole life无效？

我去年考过保险执照，对保险有一定的认识，后来因为个人原因没有做这个。
你提到的两家公司都是美国最好的之一，虽然贵了点，但有保障。
我知道有很多经纪会用目前最乐观的利率增长给客人做计划，说“可能”10年后就能用
红利付保费。但事实上我认识有十几年前买你说的其中一家保险的顾客，到现在还是要
付。如果不付的后果就是从现金值贷款付保费，要付利息。现金值如果降到零，保险也
就没有了。十年以上的Whole Life没有了是很可惜的。
假如你的保险经纪说十年付清，我建议你问他“这是garuanteed的吗？”如果说是，请
他给你指出在保单上的那一句，没有的话就不要签保单，因为你可能买的是和你想象的
不一样的东西。
我知道有保证十年付清的产品，但那是有别于传统whole life了
如果是用来投资的话，我建议你将红利投回保险买更大的保额。如果你长命百岁，复利
之下，保险日后的增长是很可观的。
如果你觉得要每年4万，付100年太多了，你也可以少买whole life，不足的保额用20

Life Insurance从概念上来说本来是很不错的东西：以集体的力量帮助少数不幸的个体
正常地生活下去，也是一个社会文明的标志。可惜的是Life Insurance的agent
distribution system有很大问题，所以造成了不少人对Life Insurance的animosity。
首先说说什么人根本不需要Life Insurance：
<1> 从出生至成年。
Agent 的两个卖点是：万一孩子出点事，大人也有个补偿啊；小孩可以Lock in 很低的
rate。
第一点是扯蛋：Insurance is solely used to solve financial dependency, NOT
emotional dependency。大人不在经济上依靠小孩，不需要Insurance，period. 第二
点也是荒谬: rate 低了，但交的时间长了，理由不成立。
<2> 成年单身。
和上面理由差不多，不需要Life Insurance。例外的是如果有老人在经济上依靠子女(

念。开始吧自己搞混淆了。
用数字来简单分析吧，假设 20年 1M term ：
1. Term： 20年 每年投入 $500 左右， 如果考虑Time Value（yield at 5.2％）实
际是1.7W 左右cost
2. Whole Life： 18年 每年投入 1 W左右， 20年 后 cash value 26W 左右 （based
on 5.2
％ dividend insurance company 的model，这个5.2不等同于实际的return ）其中 9
W增值部分若
取出时需要交税。
3. 自己投资， 每年放入Ross IRA 1W，（只放前18年，以后不在放入），假设每年都
有 5.2％ 的
return。20 年后 收入 35W 左右增值部分 16W 不用交税！
所以结论在20年的时候： Term life ＋ Ross IRA ～ 35W － 1.7W＝ 33W， （假设

很好。如果每年7%，投7年 每年$3500，7年后积累的本金可以到100岁life insurance
不用再交钱。我想大不了2万，买个 whole life, 的确好。他还在电脑上run了那个7
年7%积累的本金可以到100岁life insurance 不用再交钱的表格。现在发现根本是骗人
。存钱进去就charge10%，每年除了 insurance fee, 还多charge $800多的管理费，长
的钱怎么也赶不上charge。现在只有本金 1万多，非得继续存，不然很快钱就每了。如
果继续存, 合同上写不保证还会更多更高的fee。如果取消就只能拿出 $1000来。
范现在不承认有run过那个7年7%积累的本金可以到100岁life insurance 不用再交钱的
表格。真是每办法了。

交一样多钱吧？
每个月的缴费，先交life insurance premium,剩下的存入投资账户。如果每月缴费比
当月的life insurance premium低，不足部分从投资账户中扣除。提前中断whole life
insurance有tax问题。不太清楚，如果投资账号没有钱被保险公司terminate 保险，
是否需要补交以前投资盈利部分的收入税。
Whole life insurance有几点需要主意：
1。 Premium相比同期的Term要高。
2。投资的基金选择有限，并且收益不是太好。
3。提前中止有税收问题。提前从投资账号支取，好像没有。前几年（3年？）中止，有
罚款几千。
既然你这么热心，麻烦你从你的代理那里将现在的60到90岁的life insurance premium
(10万的保险）贴在这里吧。也让大家看看60-90岁总共须交多少保费。在这里先谢谢你

事隔超十年，也不是记得每个细节。我当时是孤身一人出国刚到，一次车祸后幸存，觉
得如果就这么走了太对不起父母了，就照电话黄页找了个跟我同姓的保险经纪。我当时
要买的是最便宜的term life,但是他推荐这个比term life 贵70%的Universal Life
Insurance，我当时年轻，所以保费很低，他说完一大通我就买了。我记得是如果头两
年退出就没有钱返还。我只记得年轻人买life insurance合算，年纪大了买term life
便宜。
我没看过VUL，就不提建议了，我只是看见它的名字也含有Universal Life Insurance
