Mathworks相对稳定，绿卡政策似乎好点，地点在麻省Natick。工作地点环境很好
小金融公司地点在南部某小镇上，绿卡政策公司没明说。估计就是传统金融行业的H1B
用完的那一天给办。当地部门只有20个人。
工作强度，Mathworks要小于金融公司。工资待遇综合差不多少。但是小地方消费水平
低，房子便宜。
职业前景来看，Mathworks不知道有什么更好的工作可以跳。金融的话，应该还是机会
挺多的。
现在有点不知道怎么选了。金融的话怕不稳定，但是感觉长期前景要好点。Mathworks
做软件测试的职位。不知道以后如果想换工作能干嘛。背景是应用数学Fresh Ph.D

engineer的，don't waste your time reading this；如果想往business方面转的，当
反面教材看吧
MathWorks这公司挺折腾的，从12月份开始，电话面了4轮，HR，marketing manager,
tech sales manager，dev manager。marketing manager很犹豫，因为我business方面
的experience比较弱，说如果要ramp up的话会比较费劲（他们还是想找个MBA立马就能
用），不过后来tech sales和dev manager给的feedback都不错，然后决定proceed这周
一on-site。
周日在机场发现笔记本充电器没带，飞机上又突然想起来居然没带衬衫，wtf，在
pheonix转机火急火燎打电话给朋友问第二天早上临时去买衬衫来不来的及。在boston
机场又折腾找van，凌晨1点多才到酒店。第二天早上又先冲到Natick mall买衬衫，然

本人香港的应用数学博士， 博士毕业后做过几站博士后。来美国4年了。
主要研究有限元计数值解法，尤其侧重于不可压流体的快速计算。
对有限元技术比较精通。面向对象，Matlab， C++, Fortran95都比较熟悉，最近也在
学python。
对一些商业的有限元也比较熟悉。
由于来美国时拿的是J1 visa，花了一段时间转换身份。 这个月刚刚拿到绿卡。 人在
麻州。
想去Mathworks, 做数值相关的工作。

4月28号给的LABEL， 买家今天说没收到。 查了TRACKING 根本没进FEDEX 系统问他、
她要收据， 说是刚扔了， 什么也拿不出。给我回信说 他理解的 他寄出去了 就没有
责任了。
FEDEX TRACKING 是 067239315012919，大家可以自己查
以前他帮我寄过几个打印机都没问题，但是这次的确出了问题， 我觉得就应该承担责任。
50多的东西，看来是要不回来了
就是给大家提个醒， 二手就是黑市，风险自负。
现在的护士出了问题 根本不会负责， 我这个CASE 应该没有什么争议吧
护士还是一大堆道理，呵呵

差，比较难面，主要只集中在技术面，我当时掏出了cleve molar给我上过课的烂关系

Engineering candidates should have familiarity with Control Theory, Embedded
Systems, or Signal Processing, as well as MATLAB experience and knowledge
of one additional programming language.
他们要是问这几门课 我肯定就菜了..... 谁叫我当时没有好好学习啊.....

是面application support engineer，是那个engineering development program/
group, 一般去其他各分支都是从这个program去的。一共面了两轮，都是on campus
第一轮非常简单，30分钟，谈话也很casual，主要是一些HR type of questions. 有一
些behavioal questions. 比如怎么deal with conflict之类的，还有是不是eligible
for work in US, why do you want to work with Mathworks之类的。
一周之后hr打电话来说有technical screening. 有senior engineers会来campus, 整
个过程2-3hrs。然后告诉我topic有discrete math, matlab, programming, C/C++/
Java, etc, Control systems/signal processing/computer science, 当时还说除了

在WI的一家医疗公司，这两年貌似大力招人（HR说的），公司业绩好像也不错，无论你
是什么专业的都可以投，公司给办H1B和绿卡，但是好像是EB3。公司好像基本条件是
GPA 3.5，如果不到就别浪费时间投了。
说实话，背景基本跟我不match，recruiter发邮件来推荐的，就去试试了。先电面（随
便问问，很轻松），再programming test（比较简单），再onsite（一堆问题，详情请
翻阅本版,careercup, glassdoor），onsite最后做了个类似GRE TEST的玩意，单词都
忘了。。。可能因为这个最后也没拿到。

接电话技术支持的角色，而且所有人一去都扔这个部门里面，再按自己努力转去更“正
式”的部门。老印很多，我看了网上那个 1 个多小时的老印讲 application support
engineer 的 video, 彻底觉得这就是个黑店。 |
