I did successfully install oracle9i in redhat linux7.3.
And I did copy my old database tables from my MSSQL server to Oracle9i by
using the ODBC administrative tool in windows.
From the client side(Oracle9i client), i can connect to my oracle database,
and I can see the all the tables schema I copied there. But when I use "select
* from tUser" to get data, it give me error"table or views doest not exist"
I also use another oracle client tool (TOAD) to try, the error is the same.

I read from oracle8 book which indicate the system manager in line mode
is "svrmgrl30" on windows, and user could access it under oracle_home\bin\
directory. But I found there is no such a command for Oracle9i on windows
(the path is oracle\ora92\bin). So where is the tool located?

no response, my OS is windowXP and i dowmloaded oracle9i from oracle and
followed the procedue for the installation.if anyone has idea of how to solve

After I cutomer-installed everything, I entered Database configuration
assistant, I try to create a new database with the example schemas. However,
in the step 4, every database features are grayed out, that means I didn't
install the options. I browsed the packages again and again, just can't figure
out the reason. Does anyone know where I can get the options and how to
install them?

package only.
Grab a never version from ftp.kernel.org -
binutils-2.10.91.0.4-1.i386.rpm did
the job for me.
And when you start runInstaller make sure your current directory is not
within the Oracle distribution directories.
BTW: You need a LOT of RAM to make it through the whole installation
process. |
