beyond that. This young lad may have other shining points, which we CMGs
do not have.
Here are my 2 cents.
1. Their graduation years are generally much smaller/shorter than ours,
and are considered associated with Fresh medical knowledge and Young age
(even younger than AMGs, more energetic and faster learner).
2. Language advantage, despite their accent(s). English wording is more

Medscape found that pathologists ranked 15th in terms of pay. The highest-
paid specialties -- including radiology, orthopedics and cardiology --
averaged nearly $100,000 more per year than pathology. Pathologists reported
higher average earnings than several other medical specialties, including

其实这是一个很好的point，MLS的的工作不是这么难找，但是也不是很好找。整体来说
CLS/MLS的收入不高，非PhD的话没任何前途，工作稳定性比较高但是也不会比码农好。
我今天有时间就来说说我对这行的了解吧。
首先是MLS找工作。有很多相关的technician工作都可以是MLS，最近这几年分子相关的
特别好找工作，其他的基本都不太好找。原因是太多的相关检测被分子检测代替了。比
如microbiology, cytology都有点这个味道。CDC最近想把很多cytology的筛查都用分
子检测替代，可想而知这个对cytologist很不友好。microbiology也是一样的，MS和
NGS对病原菌的检测敏感度上来以后，很多实验室都开始用分子检测替代培养。毕竟打
个质谱几个小时出结果，培养一个菌需要几天。另外一个原因是现在大量的分子检测还

今年很多的CMG都拿到这里的面试，简单说一下：
1. PG概况：
1).位于birmingham,AL，规模相对较小，每年招2-3个，两个教学医院，以培养
community pathologists为目标；
2).IMG所占比例不小，因为前几届都招了CMG，而且表现出色，故对CMG比较
friendly；
3).PG里的resident有一些特殊福利如就餐等；
4).提供免费住宿，所提供的hotel不错；
2. Interview及注意事项：
1).在这里interveiw的时候和resident呆在一起的时间更多，如果能掌握一些
resident的背景，会让交谈更顺利；而且，在这个PG制定rank list的时候，residents
的意见也很重要，所以要在和residents互动上下一些功夫。
2). 一般有4个attending，包括PD和/或副PD，参加面试，由于他们很忙，所以一般
面试时间较短，只有10-15分钟。

推荐信就有用吗？还是最好要高端点的比如牛校chair, PD才有用？倒是认识一两个
pathologist, 但是都是一般大学program里的小医生，手上课题也不多。硬凑上去给做
volunteer他们也貌似也兴趣不大，不置可否。我也吃不准他们的LoR有多强的作用。 |

doesn't have to. For example, if your PhD advisor is a Pathologist, or if
your postdoc boss is a pathologist, they can write good LORs for you without
OB. In addition, good OB experience brings you more than LORs. |

在三个不同的医院里做了一个多月的OB，之前有这种想法，通过ob坚定自己的想法，写
ps，反复改，找同事推敲，彻彻底底把故事讲清楚就足够了，不要把自己的cv放在里面
重复一遍，就丧失了cs的作用
你将来在选program？ research track？ 我收到好几个research track的 offer，大
部分的research track，让你的第三年，第四年做elective。 即使进了某一个track，
也不是板上钉钉的事情，可以换。
lili，我申请了两个专业，写了两个ps，其实前后都差不多，中间有一段我对病理理解
什么样，不要写的很复杂，很奇怪，写的简单一点，把故事讲清楚，人家能明白，ps
别人花五到十分钟就已经很不错了，我就是从头到尾，对临床的理解。 你要是想申请
不同的专业，要写不同的ps，有人甚至针对不同的医院。中间找地方冲突一下。 ps里

hospitalisation and we didn't go back and ask those questions again whenwe
got the path results back. Would have hake the case better if we did.
About when the diagnosis is confirmed, it was when she got better on gluten
free diet. before that we were highly suspicious but there was still a
little doubt because of those negative serologies. Our GI fellow told her

Sometimes image readers put more differentials on the list to protect/cover
themselves.
Pathologists are also clever to cover/protect themselves, and I saw that
pathologists put comments in their core biopsy reports such as ..., with...
carcinoma
less likely but can not be completely excluded. They know exactly the
diagnosis, but they still add something in their report to have themselves

事情经过是这样：2011年老婆在一个挺大的私人医院做了子宫肌瘤手术，两位
pathologist review切片说只是普通的子宫肌瘤Fibroid。整一年后，她侧腰处疼的厉
害去了另一个医院ER，CT后发现大肠边和脾上长了两个瘤子。大夫说从没见过这种长的
瘤子，必须立刻手术切除脾和肠边的瘤子并且分析原因。这次手术后发现原来一年前
pathology错了，这两个瘤子都是一种子宫癌症扩散出来的，而且扩散是第一次手术造
成（手术用了一个叫morcellation procedure, 就是微创手术把瘤子在体内切碎取出，
这两年因为这种方法造成了很多癌症扩散的case，FDA去年发布警告不要继续使用这个

利比里亚的刑事法庭昨天（14日）判决两名中国人死刑。
这两位中国人，一位叫王猛，另一位叫马力（都是音译）被控在去年蓄意谋杀了在蒙罗维亚居住的一名南非的电器技术人员达米斯。
利比里亚法庭已经命令司法部立即安排把这两名中国人遣返回国，并在那里执行死刑。
但据蒙罗维亚的报纸报道，这两位中国人在审讯中曾经表示，杀人罪在中国是不可饶恕的，他们宁愿在利比里亚接受刑罚。
而利比里亚的刑事法庭裁定，他们二人的行为违反了利比里亚的新刑法条例，也必须面对死刑。

It is a well-established principle of law that ‘there is no property in a
corpse.’ This means that the law does not regard a corpse as property
protected by rights. In other words there can be no ‘ownership’ of a dead
body. The only exception is where body parts acquire different attributes by

经过两年多，我们宝宝的医疗事故基本清楚了。可是剩下的起诉时间已经不多了，所以
我们打算联系媒体，希望把我们把美国黑暗的医疗暴露出来。因为医院在当地势力太大
，我们希望把资料寄给最合适的大型媒体。我们对媒体一点都不熟悉，相信也有好坏等
等，请知道任何联系办法或各种有用信息的朋友们帮助。如果回帖不方便，请给我发私

我们的经历不局限于任何一个医院，经过两年多的挫折我们觉得当初疏漏是完全可以原
谅的，可是医生的故意掩盖却让本来可以纠正的事故慢慢演变为造成宝宝永久伤害的故
事。
发生事故的医院是个regional medical center级别的儿童医院，大家就不要再提了。
具体过程是这样的：
宝宝６个半月大全身浮肿晚上７点入住急症，主治医生忽略症状没有进行应该的检查。

状况。所以除了ER前的2oz奶，到离开ER前的１９个小时没有吃其他任何东西，因为他
不能充分转化脂肪应付代谢危急，他的肝脏迅速积累大量的free fatty acids (FFA).
