本来只是想修一堂英文写作课,在美国时间也有5-6年了,英文水平还只是停留在一般的
基础上(日常用语和专业用语).没想到修一门最基础的英文写作课提高写作水平，却留
下了一个终生遗憾的印记…
在一个open enrollment 的学校上课,就是你付钱,就可以上的那种.老师是一个教学风
格很随便的,上课开玩笑,讲sport,一共一学期15课,还安排了2堂课看电影,一个是
wedding crashers..第一堂课是introduction和test,一堂课因为特殊情况被cancelled
了,所以连头到尾算起来就是11节课.而课的assignments是两篇文章,每篇3个draft.第
一和第二个draft不会算分,professor只写comments,只有最后一个draft才会算分.学期
的总分就是两篇作文的最后分数加课堂表现.
在上课之前从来没有想到自己会被plagiarism这个词栽跟头.也没有想到美国人对这个
concept看成是steal,和cheater一样.这个老师的思维是美国式教学.他是美国人,上课

论文存在抄袭（plagiarism）的消息，当时感到的震惊无以名状。虽然早就过了崇拜偶
像的年龄，但这位民权运动的领袖、非暴力运动的倡导者、神学博士、魅力型牧师、诺

即使引的是自己以前的东西，那也是self-plagiarism,因为版权是出版社的。
只是一般对self-plagiarism大家不太注意，没人举报就是了。

定不一样的好不好。 我看了留菊花的论文对比，完全的plagiarism,毫无疑问。真不
明白还在那狡辩个啥？一个文科同学写master论文的时候，就一句话是从google上拿来的，
一共15个字，结果第二天就被老师highlight 出来，附上了打印出来的网页，还写上批语，这是非常严重的

plagiarism的定义非常宽泛，俺记得还和instructor吵了一架，就是为了争论common
words的使用。
俺就用的和你这个类似的例子，我记得我的instructor盯着我的眼睛说“yes, it is
plagiarism". 当然她是吓唬人，她的目的是告诉你，在明知的情况下，照抄别人的句
子是万万不可的，不管长短。 |
