因为有孩子要上学，看到radnor的学区还可以。但是那里的很多房子又老又贵，只有一
个 Radnor区的 GARRETT HILL的房价还可以承受。但是考虑到周围的房子都贵，那个
garrett hill是不是就是富人区中的穷人区，会不会很不安全。在radnor那个地方比较
安全?谢谢大家。
请知道的朋友说说 看。从南方搬过去，从来没有在宾州生活过，对那里的情况一点也
不知道。请当地的朋友给点建议。谢谢。 |

比如今年毕业生将近500人，只有35个华人。从college matriculation 看华人孩子表
现很不惊艳。 Radnor 300多人也就15个华人。LM还没来及统计。但又好像TE的stem强
些。看见有不少竞赛什么的。
然后就是象national merit semi/finalists. TE的华人孩子明显多很多。Radnor, lm
华人孩子不是很多。
有谁懂的请指教一下。还有娃上高中后各种课外班主要集中在哪个区域呢 |

think that's why TE has been hot recently. Most of the time, LM/Radnor/TE
only show up as silver medalist. I would have selected TE if I didn't care
about commute time as much. So, if you work around KOP area, buy TE by all
means. I don't think there are much difference between all mainline schools. |

差不多，radnor有15.1%，TE有15.8%。看看人家新泽西，很多地方亚裔已经超过白人成
为majority啦，西温莎59%的亚裔，南布伦瑞克51%，更别提湾区啦。
乌泱乌泱的老中老印？where？where？我怎么很少看见中国人印度人啊。。。。。
拼爹的压力到底指的是啥啊？别人的爸妈给买东西，自己的爸妈买不起，然后心里失落

发帖数: 366 | 26 最近在看房，SFH，30万左右的budget，first home，上班在Randor附近。在lower merion/radnor township/te/colonial/methacton这几个学区都搜了，发现这个budget只有在collegeville才有condition比较好，也不算太小太老的房子。
在网上查了collegeville的资料，家庭收入/受教育程度等好像还不错。学区虽然比不上lower merion/radnor township/te，但是也不错。
去看房的时候觉得ridge pike那条路两边看起来比较旧，周围不像在KOP这么方便有很多店。但是29和422交汇的地方好像在修一个不知道是outlet还是shopping center。上班要在level road上走一段，上下坡还有点陡，冬天下雪会不会有问题？level road之后上422，agent说422在rush hour的时候还是挺堵的。
有没有比较熟悉collegeville的能说说在这里买房的优缺点？

merion/radnor township/te/colonial/methacton这几个学区都搜了，发现这个budget

不上lower merion/radnor township/te，但是也不错。
很多店。但是29和422交汇的地方好像在修一个不知道是outlet还是shopping center。
上班要在level road上走一段，上下坡还有点陡，冬天下雪会不会有问题？level road
之后上422，agent说422在rush hour的时候还是挺堵的。
west chester？
一个大缺点？

paoli西边great valley学区也成，再往西exton那边开发的晚，新房子多些，学区也还

! but it is cheap and heating included. see what you are looking for...
there are (relatively) cheaper apts owned by smaller agencies in wayne/
strafford area too, they tend to be slightly cheaper. my 2 br apt right

但基本都是过渡性质的。
你这个budget在美东大城市附近的好区，都是只能买到50，60年代的SFH，甚至更早。
如果你是从外州搬过来的，肯定不适应。但是radnor, lower merion 和 t e这3个区的
房价最坚挺，这几年经济危机也基本没降还略升。我一个朋友从中西部07年过来的，看
了一圈radnor, lower merion 和 t e，感觉和你一样，嫌旧，就花了50多万在
collegeville买了一个几年新的新房，但是随后经济危机，房价大跌，尽管最近两年房
价涨了，现在还没涨回到买价呢。LZ好好考虑一下。 |

Ithan Elementary School. 刚打电话给学校，得知cut line 是9月30号。要紧
kindergarten，必须要9月30号满5岁。接电话的老师说，如果在别的private school上
了kindergarten，然后9/30号还不满6岁，但是也马上6岁了，经过一系列测试后，也可
以读一年级。但是老师强烈不推荐，说什么打了后会有些social方面的问题啊，我在想
9月20几号出生的孩子和10月初的孩子有那么大的区别吗？9月20几号的孩子就不要经过
任何测试就可开始读一年级了。
大家是怎么操作的啊？不想多等一年再读一年级。
radnor地区有什么private school推荐啊，应该就是去上个kindergarten，如果不是特
别特别好的话，以后还是要到ithan去上小学的。 |

就学区房来说，没人考虑Wissahickon学区吗？大家还是都去TE, lower merion,
radnor？TE离我和LD上班都太远了。第二个考虑radnor， 比Wissahickon高中好一些，
通勤稍远，也可以接受。
我的问题是，从USNEWS, niche等各种排名来看，除了masterman一枝独秀，貌似宾州前
2-20都差不多，选个离家近，周围方便的就行了，我这样理解学区/学校排名是不是不
对，一定要去顶尖的学区？
另外求推荐学区，一个在blue bell上班，一个在drexel上班，小孩一年级。谢谢！ |

估计了UD实力，如果我猜的话，这次UD是去年的UD和Radnor United 合起来的。这次回
来后我们去年提了那个tournament说和one of UD/Radnor United踢得也很艰苦，后来
是JF使的招我们自己收缩控球而不是攻出去，和对手拼耐性，最后赢了
这次UD的实力应该和我们野狼及THU是一个水平，都很接近，没有明显差距，包括DC和
PA的可能人员配置也不差 |
