margin between winning and losing.
Monday’s announcement of the prize to John Gurdon at Cambridge University
and Shinya Yamanaka of Kyoto University for discovering and showing in

called—that are destined to be skin or nerve or intestinal cells, could be

中在05年底还是06年初（具体时间忘了）在某个学会透露了他用4个因子可以诱导出iPS
，但当时他只公布了3个，留第四个做悬念，到Cell论文发表才公布第4个，Thomson可
能及早下手做了筛选？ |

两个都是rotational program。前者金融为主，后者比较general。Pay现在差不多，以
后还不知道。请大家给个意见，或者分享一下你们了解的关于两家公司的情况！谢谢！
现在知道的情况：
GM：
优点：技术层面扎实，跟各大bank接触多，以后换行会容易。现在是非常时刻，所以做
的东西比较复杂，可以学很多。主要招的都是国际学生，大家背景也比较像，交流起来
比较容易。Office地点好，在纽约中央公园旁边（不过3年后租期就到期了，可能会换
office）。在中国名声大一点，中国是主要增长点，以后回去机会好，但是不一定会派
我回去。
缺点：公司短期不会盈利，前景不明朗。培训都是on-job，而且以technical为主。
Thomson：
优点：招去的人背景比较杂，金融、管理、市场专业的都有，互相学习会比较有意思。 |

我以前有2年工作经验， 出来在purdue, IN又读了2年CS master. 现在手上有２个
offer.
一个是CaptitalOne((Richmond, VA)--Senior Application developer,钱比TR每年多
１６K, 还可以mBA reimbursement.
另一个机会在eagan, MN(离Minneapolis１５miles), Thomson Reuters那边是他们的
legal部门，职位是数据库方面。钱比C1少，而且没有relocation package. 但是老公
（国内硕士，来美半年，雇主正要帮他申请GC）在那边，我有一岁的娃。
请大家帮忙分析下， 到底哪个更好点？想听听建议。。。 |

TSL) depot.
The 32ha depot will be located in Mandai beside a portion of the Seletar
Expressway, and will provide stabling and maintenance facilities for TSL
trains.
It will be the fifth MRT depot here as well as the largest - it has room for
90 trains compared to the Bishan depot's 37 and the upcoming Tuas West
depot's 60. Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2012.

只是因为他是美国人所以美国报纸对他的science paper报道多一点而已
在ips上他的贡献很有限，把老鼠细胞换成了人细胞而已
在原创性上毫无贡献。克隆羊不能得奖同样的道理。
实际上Jamie Thomson贡献比克隆羊相对还少，因为人细胞不能最终确认全能性。可笑
的是，为了突出和Yamanaka工作的不同，故意搞了两个不同的基因。实际上原来的四个
就可以。
