看搜出来的这位童鞋的分析：
先算 roth 401k，这个比较简单，就是每年投$15000, 投30年，annual return 8%，
30年后有$1699k after tax money.
如果投 trad 401k，也投$15000, 30年以后有$1699k before tax money. 根据假设，
tax rate 35%, 税后就是$1104k。
但roth 投的是税后的钱，税前就是$27778。其中$15000投到trad 401k，剩下$12778
税前的钱交完税就是$6900 （marginal rate 46%)。$6900也每年投入8% before tax
return的帐号，但没有tax deferral，所以after tax return就是5.6% (30% tax rate
on investment return)。这样30年后有$509k。
后两项合计 $1613k，小于 roth 的$1699k。
在这些假设里，如果名义return 高于8%，或者未来的税率高于35%，都是有利于roth的。

听说是每年4/15日才截至，所以想来问问trad ira的问题。
我们俩都没有retirement plan，所以deductible是没有收入限制的对吗？也就是我们
现在可以开一个trad ira，然后往里面存5500，那么至少今年(2017年)，可以少报5500
的那部分
的税到以后报对吗？

IRA->Roth conversion，这个顺序把（在手里余钱够用的前提下）。
8880那个$1000 credit倒是第一次听说，挺有意思，不过貌似两万八的收入上限低了点
，千老一个人的话肯定过了拿不到吧。

at least half an hour wandering around. Finally another group was headed
there and we followed.
1. Warmed up with a 5.6 Trad: Chapstick. There were probably a few 5.6 moves
but otherwise low 5. Only set 3 pros.
2. With the previous anchor set, we top roped the neighbor 5.7: "Another
notch in my lipstick case", which can be led as a trad. The crux is probably
a hard 5.7 or even 5.8, especially compared with the previous 5. |

发帖数: 2636 | 21 Red Rocks主要的Sports climb都在loop road上的前两个view point。我们去了
Gallery和Black corridor。Gallery是RR最popular的地方了，简直像个gym，从左到右
难度依次增加，从5.8到5.13。路线质量不错，全overhang，就是都比较短，除了5.12+
的路线以外，都是3-5 bolts
后来我们去了Black corridor，除了比较冷，比Gallery要有趣。路线长，变化多。
Red Rocks大部分的multi-pitch都在深谷里面，冬天比较冷，去的人少。只有少量的
trad和multi-pitch冬天可以爬。Prince of Darkness我们虽然Bail了，但我非常喜欢
那个climbing area (Black Velvet），里面有几条条经典的6-pitch 5.10 mixed
climb,还有一条18 pitch 5.9 trad，据说是世界上最好的5.9路线之一。以后一定会再
去。

You're looking at different kinds of climbing with different techniques. Not
very comparable.
Just give you some sense: I can struggle toprope some 5.12s in the gym. The
hardest trad lead I ever done is 5.7+. Not mentioning placing gear, just try
going up 5.9 in the gym with a 30lb backpack for 20 laps (routes in the gym
are typically way shorter than a pitch outside).
I have a friend's friend who's gone up El Cap. He's a legend among us just
for this. |

ride，又生病了，我只好临时在gym找人，最后跟三个肌肉男一起去的Red River Gorge
，想想跟不同的人学不一样的东西也不错。结果两天下来手指痛得垃圾桶都费半天劲才
打开。典型的RRG肌肉男跟我真不是一个风格：只爬overhang，不喜欢爬slab；只爬
sports不碰trad；不管再怎么overhang基本不转身不high step，就是正蹬拉上去...周
六一天爬八个pitch，七个都是不同幅度的overhang下来，周日我基本就动不了了。还
是喜欢另外一拨朋友的风格每次都是一半sports一半trad，各种路线和技巧都涉及到。
肌肉男一周爬7天，即使不爬也在gym里lift weight，爬起来基本不讲技巧，这么爬下
去稍微technical的5.11就不行了。
RRG漫山遍野的山茱萸正盛开，马褂木正在发新芽，杜鹃快要开花了，微风过去枫树的
小翅果无声地旋转落地。真好，休息的时候坐在那里空气里都是春天的甜香。我随身带
了本野花的书，翻翻居然认出来了十几种正在绽放的野花^^

打进石缝里，其实也是破坏。不过人少一些，相对破坏还小一点
sports climb的出现对climber来说是福音，降低了门槛，很多人都能玩了，对环保来
说，确实不是什么好消息 |

本来那天我没partner，就随便抓了一个人，就是这个老头。他号称受伤，半年没爬，
来aa出差，两天前才开始恢复。一起爬了几条5.11s，老头非常smooth。我说，你没受
伤的时候爬12s, 13s吧，老头嘿嘿一乐，嗯是啊，而且是trad
觉得俺眼光还挺准的哈。trad climber爬的时候明显特别稳，没有sports climber经常
有意无意的小动态。
最近一段改成每周去gym爬三次了。一周两次对我来说肌肉很难保持在稳定爬5.11的水
平。觉得什么运动如果不能隔天一次就很难保持。跑步也一样，隔两天不跑感觉就不一
样了。这么说来，认真玩的话最多只能两项运动，这就一周６天，休息一天了。 |

Pitch 1: trad 5.7
Pitch 2: trad 5.8 (direct variation)
Pitch 3: A1
Pitch 4: Sports 5.7
Pitch 5: 5.5R
Pitch 4 和5很短, 可以连在一起爬. 我lead了所有的pitch.
本想周六爬的, 早晨10点pioneer route和west face variation两条线下面都有至少2
组在等着, 两条路线在第三个pitch汇合, 是一个A1的aid climbing, 最耽误时间的地
方. 算了一下时间肯定来不及了,只好改成周日爬.
周日早晨5点半起, 8点我和richard冲到了west face variation下面, 我们是第一组,
8点半开爬, 刚开始两个pitch一切顺利, 到了pitch 3的时候, 发现有另一队从pioneer
route过来的,赶在了我们前面, 只好等, 后面几个pitch都在他们后面等着, 一直到下
午2点登顶.

到人跟你爬sports，lead可以现学。如果只爬sports，从LA开过去5个小时，你们玩个
周末就可以了。RR有很不错的sports，但两天你就能把能爬的都爬完了。

可能容易些，自己走我们也没研究出来。Moab最有名的Indian Creek大部分都是5.11+
trad，desert towers也都是5.10+ trad + aiding |

sports climber，trad也爬过些single-pitch了，但爬multi-pitch简直就让人发指。
我们等她lead一个pitch等得都快冻死了。天都快黑了还非要lead一个5.9 full rope-
length pitch，本来说好了bail的，等她上来不由分说就一定要lead，而且还是trad
anchor，最后所有人只能leave gear and bail in the dark。下来以后居然还一点都
不feel sorry，下到底下不停地兴奋地说自己那个pitch怎么惊险，我在大黑天地了
trail，站在那里等她，都想骂娘了，不知道没到家你就还没安全啊。晚上睡觉前说，
今天真是good day啊，我都想打人了，13 hr day, bail in the dark，没有epic的唯
一原因就是我们另外两个人以前在这里爬过，知道几乎所有的repel station的位置，
和trail的位置。错就错在我们另外两个人没有强烈反对。以后该bail就要bail，我太
不坚决了。今天她终于 |

some easy 5.11s. I'm very conservative when it comes to trad climbing.
On the other hand, the rating is only a reference. Not all 5.8s are created
equal. It depends a lot on the terrain, rock quality, the type of climbing (
slab vs overhang, crack vs face, crimp vs pocket, etc etc), whether they are
sustained, how well can they be protected, the consequence of a fall, etc.

their late 30s are the only "trad girls" here.
Many people thought I was crazy to do the 9-mile approach for Wind River,
and reasoned "if there are endless bolted climbs, why bother trad?" Red
River Gorge is becoming a zoo, and sometimes I can even smell the sweat
along the entire crag. |
