《华尔街日报》中文版总编袁莉在网上问：“土豪英文怎么翻译？”引出无数网友的尝试，如newly rich, upstart, provincial tycoon，rural rich，vulgar tycoon，等。南大英文系教授但汉松借用一美国情景戏剧的名字，将其称作“Beverly Hillbillies”，颇为传神，将好莱坞富豪云集的比华利山庄（Beverly Hills）和土包子（Hillbillies）合而为一。只是加州比华利似乎离我们远了一些，容易造成认知上的混淆，所以影评人周黎明先生说，不如本地化一下，改作Beijing Hillbillies吧（北京土包子）。只是这么一来，北京之外的土豪们心里又不平衡了。混了半天，一翻译过来，自己怎么连土豪都不是？

第一，也许evil的不是tycoons，而就是中央政府，或者说政府也未必比tycoons更有话
事权，所谓强龙vs地头蛇的关系。
第二，政府关心的是gain但更关系的是loss，所以想找有同样想法的人，虽然这个人自
己可以赚很多，但只要不让社会loss就可以，所谓把饼做大。曾这种，表面听话，自己
也没得什么好处，可是造成的loss还要中央来埋单。
