听闻Georgia Tech好象种族歧视有点厉害, 不知是真是假.

中餐馆：
天仁名茶 在umcp campus紧靠route 1 上。 环境还算不错，
面饭菜式都很简单清淡，主要还是喝bubble tea的地方，适合
晚上大家聊天聚会，排骨饭还不错。 价钱比较便宜吧。推荐 ***
China Cafe在college park downtown，算是umcp的第一中国饭堂吧
ld经常在那里吃三刀多的盒饭，味道就地道american chinese food了，
但架不住便宜，一直生意都挺好的。推荐 *
China Buffet 在1号路上,来美国的第一天晚上就被师兄拉去吃,
觉得那个难受啊.深切体会到未来若干年的痛苦生活现状.今天还有
一黑大哥说那家buffet店不错,感情就一家黑人中餐馆. 不推荐
海珍搂 也在1号路上.总共吃过两次.印象都不深刻.感觉味道既不是
川菜也不是粤菜,也不是沪菜,很郁闷.不过它家还买寿丝,没尝过,
也没有兴趣尝.上次有人点了一甜品 八宝饭, 居然就是国内那种罐头

on the Metro bus line and UMCP Shuttle route. 5 mins drive to Greenbelt

lake, inside a park, a lot of recreation within 5 mins walking distance.

我其实不住在greenbelt，就是当时很多人向我推荐lakeside north。UMCP很多人在
sublease那
里的一些房间。你可以申请加入UMCP mailing list然后会有很多sublease的信息。 |

So my mom actually has a MS in Horticulture at UMCP and all of her
classmates and her are now doing IT. There's no real job market in U.S. for
horticulture 15 years ago, so I am guessing not much has changed.
1. Therefore, which one is more well known in China?
2. Which prof is more likely to give you time to study something else.
(I would study statistics, and I know UMCP has a good STAT program) |

发帖数: 10265 | 48 小学还可以吧, olney有5所小学, 目前两所10, 一所9, 还有两所低一点, 是因为区里
很多低收入房.两所初中是9, 以前至少我们对应的那所10.
高中里sherwood还可以(county第二历史悠久的高中), 南边的blake和magruder稍微差
一点. Olney南侧的房子要小心些, 西边的会划到magruder, 东边的可能会划到blake.
Olney是因为90年代建了大批新房, 里面有很多低收入房, 老黑和墨墨比较多. 本来呢
这些人经常是等10年就卖房, 可是07年开始房市下划, 卖房的就少了. 我们孩子刚上小
学的时候, 等校车的学生里不少黑黑墨墨. 后来越来越少, 我们小学的评分就越来越好
, 初中的评分开始不好了. 估计等这批学生过去, 初中又该好了, 然后高中的评分又该
下来了......
具体到我们学区, 两极分化比较严重, 学校很多犹太学生. Olney比较重视体育, 各种
球类运动和游泳都比较方便, dancing studio比较多, 以前music和art的地方少, 现在
开始慢慢多一点.

外很多孩子会去考GT, 就不在本学区念了.
在sherwood这种地方要爬大藤可能不容易, 但是相对申请大学还是占便宜. 我们一个中
国邻居家老二, 老师动员她去blair的, 她家里觉得家门口念书方便, 去了sherwood,
最后拿到全奖读UMCP. 我同事的孩子在wootton,成绩也很好, 最后去了个小藤, 但就没
拿到UMCP的全奖, 只拿到半奖 |

乐呵呵送她去NYU了，说送UMCP，还得交州内学费。
估计相当一部分，拿到UVA scholarship了吧。 |
