Alumni Foundation has reached $949,131 -- counting
donations "in the mail", the total is practically above $950K
just $50K away from One Million US Dollars. History is in

I tried to find it out from our AF site but got very confused in the maze (
especially the very hard-to-read page

FatWallet for $4212.70. Including the one received in
April 2007, the total contribution from FatWallet is
$5792.

AF和IF之间各种争议由来已久，牵涉很多。我这里只针对其中涉及到财务的一个疑问，
做我力所能及的回答。
AF的资金，从来没有放在私人名下。有这个疑问的校友可能是对美国公司，组织财务制
度有一点不熟悉。听说AF的帐号对应的个人资料是张上游的，就误解那是上游的个人帐
号。这是一个天大的冤枉。
这种公司或者组织开银行帐号，规矩是这样的，开的名义是组织的，但是必须有一个或
者多个signer的个人资料与之对应。原因很简单，确定谁有权力进行操作。只有个人资
料存在对应帐号下的人才可能操作。否则每次操作，银行只能和组织核对，来的这个人
是不是有你们组织授权啊？授权几何啊？是谁授权啊？blah blah，这是很不practical
的事情。
现在有个个人资料，银行要核对的就是，来的是不是authorized的那位，是就好。
这个制度不仅AF用，其他所有公司都用。这就是美国银行business帐号的基本操作流程
。所以你不可能开出一个仅仅挂“USTCAF”名义，什么个人资料都没有的帐号来，这是

If USA/IRS has such an auditing requirement, USTCAF has to do it anyhow.
Then, there is no point to discuss about whether we should do it or not.
If auditing is an option, I do not see there is a problem to outsource this
auditing job to China. Alternatively, we can find a volunteer alumni CFA to
do this (if possible).

If some volunteer CPA(s) would like to offer their help in auditing, why not
ustcaf to accept it!
At this stage of annual incoming donations of about $20K if you exclude
subfunds, it is a practical issue of affordability.

But personally I know at least $2000 are in the mails, so

around
and growing after 12 years :)
Back in 1995, when the USTC Alumni Foundation was founded, MITBBS was not
even around. USTCAF was born on a crude mailing list (named ustc85-L) with
about 100 USTCers. Many people (including non-USTCers) hang out on a crude
BBS created by Prof. Zhang Shangyou(771) back then. There were wars among
universities on that BBS as well :)

we have to reply on their words.
ExtraRebates gave USTCAF an account to check realtime transaction to
AF account -- but there is no way to figure out who made the donation.
But if donor informs AF, we can at least make sure every transaction
