service seldom lay off people (if you are not in some bad situation areas).

先说说自己的情况，18岁的时候来米国念书，一直自费餐馆打工，好不容易大学要念完
了。
因为当时也不懂，就听别人说UW.madison的微生物很好，然后就念了。
最后两年念的非常辛苦，成绩也不算好。
所以，实在不太想继续微生物方面，而且，专业课都是B的，估计也很难拿到钱。
大学期间有一年左右的实验经验，一般的基因方面，比较熟手，western blot什么，也
能做一点。因为性格内向，所以还是觉得自己是适合实验室。accounting, nursing,因
为性格问题，觉得还是不用考虑了。
现在准备申请PHD，但这些年在MITbbs呆久了，越呆越心寒，实在不知道以后念什么方
向好。
现在有想法转civil E中的wastewater treatment这方面，但是一打听，因为本科不是
工程的，要转工程，还有修很多课（我四年打工实在打怕了，也穷怕了，一想到还要自
己交那么多学费，就很退缩）。
还有一个想法，就是读public health，但完全不知道这方面的前景和funding.
请各位大家给点意见吧。
就是能比较好拿到offer，解决吃饭问题，然后专业前景。那个稍微不是 |
