correspondent lender，就是那种mortgage banker之类的银行，就属于wholesale。
一般情况下，wholesale的rate比银行自己retail的rate要好。而且，correspondent
lender是自己拿钱funding，有自己的underwriter，申请贷款的效率比直接找银行高，
也比那些得把loan送到银行里面去批的broker效率高。 |

行所申请的贷款属于“Retail”渠道，找broker申请的则属于“Wholesale”渠道。银
行把处理文件，接洽客户等marketing和processing的高人力成本的事情外包给broker
，从而broker能够从银行那里提供给客户更低的“一揽子”利率。从字面上理解，
wholesale翻译过来是批发，retail是零售。批发价当然比零售价低。 |

They do it by volume but basically wholesale dealers naturally get a break.
They do not make that much but rely on volume of sales. My cost for most of
the Glock plain jane models is around $440 from the wholesale dealers, a bit
more for night sights etc. Dealers can mark it what they want, from retail
to mostly 100 over cost, then can bargain it down or toss in a box of shells
