If company A acquired company B in Nov 2008. The FYE is 12/31/xx. The
company A has two options 1) early adoption of FAS 141 (R) 2) still use of
FAS141. Am I right?
"Effective Date:Prospectively to business combinations for which the
acquisition date is on or after the beginning of the first annual reporting
period beginning on or after December 15, 2008"
If Company A has two options, which method is better?

发帖数: 15 | 2 Early adoption of FAS 141R is not permitted. See Paragraph 74 of FAS 141R.
If your client already made the acquisition in Nov 2008, applying FAS 141 is
the only choice. In general, FAS 141 is favorable than FAS 141R, and this
became incentives for companies to complete acquisition in 2008 rather than
