There are 2 questions might be useful for others:
Why life insurance not P/C?
Why insurance not consulting?
In order to register for Life Contingencies 2, I went through Life
Contingencies1 quickly by myself during the break. I don't know if my answer

college and discovered that I am more interested in the life con class. I
like about the fact that life insurance only has to worry about one
uncertainy - when the event happenes, rather than both freq and severity in
P&C. Also, I grasped the concepts of life insurance quickly in my life con
class, and P&C just doesn't click with me.

Life has more than one uncertainty besides mortality such as policyholder
behavior, yield curve movements. Compared with PC, life side does not
include a lot of statistics, but it does demand a high level of asset and
liability management.

sometimes we need to prepare answers for both sides. As for me,I do prefer
an insurance company to a consulting one, but I would not like to miss any
chance in consulting companies.
As for life or P&C, I took one course in life insurance but have no idea
about P&C.
IBNR,it seems like you are working in a P&C company,would you like to share
some experience in this area?

all these are the "standard" answers that you can find on "BeAnActuary".
You guys want to pursue this career and you never visit that website?
normally you can not go wrong when you interview for entry level jobs with
these answers. if you meet a real expert looking for somebody to take
actions, all these BS won't work (well, on a 2nd thought, a real expert won'
t ask you this type of stupid questions..) | s***t

I guess the real questions they were planning to ask are:
Why you don't hate to work in Life or P&C?
Why you don't hate to work for insurance or consulting?
Oh. By the way, what would be your answer if it is an auditing firm?
They don't have a lot of projects for you to do. You just do reserving and
reserving and reserving.....
