UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- Part of the 101 Freeway was closed Saturday
morning after a tree fell across several lanes.
It happened on the northbound side, just before the Universal City exit
around 3 a.m.
California Highway Patrol officers said the driver of an SUV hit the 40-foot
tree, knocking it into the road. Three lanes of the freeway were closed for
more than 90 minutes as officers investigated.
That driver ran off on foot, but left her purse behind along with her ID.
At least one other driver hit the tree before crews could clear it.
No one was seriously hurt. |
