First time got a damage on my car... I was making a right turn slowly, then
saw a car quickly coming from the straight lane that I was about to turn
onto, I decided to let that car go first, so I made a stop, a lady's car
from the back hit my back bumper. We both got off the car, I saw no harm
done on my car so I let her go. The only thing I wrote down is her license
plate number just in case. After I got home, I found the side bump had
damage and body shop estimated repair cost to be $800.
I have a few questions:
1) Is it clear this is her fault or could be my fault?
2) Is it possible to track her down with license plate number? Even if I
track her down, I don't have evidence to make her admit if she doesn't want
to, right?
3) If I claim with my insurance this is "hit and run", would that affect my
monthly insurance payment with this range of repair cost? Also I assume I'll
have copay for hig and run? I may also change my auto insurance company in
new future, not sure if that would affect the answer to this question or not
.

would try to contact her. since you have her license plate number, there has
to be a way to find her info by using it. police? bmv?
check your insurance policy to see if you have hit and run coverage (
uninsured motorist?). also check if you have any deductible. if you do, it
may not make sense to contact your insurance (i have $1000 deductible).
i don't think your insurance premium will go up. | m***T

the right turn as well.
