You definitely deserve an authorship, but I don't think that you have
mentioned enough details of your contributions and others to let people
judge exactly which authorship. My guess is that the best case for you is
co-first author, but on second position or latter if there are more than 2
co-first authors. Does your PI think otherwise?
Yes, to my knowledge most journals allow co-first, even co-corresponding.

了人体细胞，我写了一个怎么分离DNA测序的protocol, 我用这个
方法测了E.coli的基因组，证明shot-gun可行。现在，有人按照我
的思路把人类基因组测完了，我有权利要求co-first?

bad if you couldn't. Since you have left the lab, there is a good chance
that you might not be able to get it.

If you've generated the key figure of this paper, you certainly deserve at
least a co-1st author. Research means much more than pipetting. Otherwise,
I'd INSIST this being written out clearly in author contributions.
Innovation and originality should be rewarded, which is important for the
healthy development of the scientific society. |
